Can Jackson or Rosenfels be your Hostetler?
I was wondering how confident you guys are in your back-ups at this point?
Lets say that Favre does go down again, and this time, he will sit out while is arm is reduced to jello, does anyone here think that either Jackson or Rosenfels is good enough to lead your team to a SB win?
I asume that just being a game manager on this team won't be enough at this point. Yes, your defense is still great and yes, you have a good running game, but there appears to be a slight collapse in those departments when compared to the last two years. Can Sage or Tarvaris carry your team?

With our run game hurting, no.

The Vikings won the NFC North last year without players like Percy Harvin (not yet drafted) Sidney Rice (injury) E.J. Henderson (injury) and Phil Loadholt (not yet drafted) Plus, we played with Gus Frerotte under center for most part of the season.
I think we can reach the Super Bowl without Brett Favre, but the rest of the team must perform at their peak.
The thing about Favre is that he can either win you the game, or lose it. We need to get the running game back on track so that Brett Favre can play under less pressure.

If T-Jack would have to go up against the Saints D and Sharper I think we would be in a hell of a lot of trouble. Sharper had 2 picks against Sanchez primarily due to his one week long film study. What happens when he goes up against a guy that he has practiced against for years? Plus the Saints O is dangerous through the air, something we would have trouble stopping and then be forced to have T-Jack throw 30+ passes. Not Good.

Re:Can Jackson or Rosenfels be your Hostetler?
My take is that either of them can. There are certainly valid reasons as to why they couldn't, but this seems different......
Childress knows exactly what he has with Sage and TJ. I think that what we have seen from TJ in limited appearances as well as the preseason is an improvement from last year (in terms of being decisive with the ball).
There is no question that there is a drop off from #4 to TJ or Sage, but all we need is someone who is slightly better than Gus was last year, Dont turn the rock over, and play solid Defense.
I think our special teams, rookie additions, and thirst for redemtion from the 1 and done performance last year propels them deep into the playoffs with or without #4.
Having said all that it would take Favre in a wheelchair in order for him not to play if we are in a deep playoff run. He played virtually a whole year with a broken thumb.

But, that question could be leveled at many teams vying for the playoffs.
Such as Peyton Manning getting injured, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Carson Palmer. I would view that as catastrophic.
Romo and Rodgers, not so much.

3.14% confidence in them. If Favre goes down, our season is over.
We're bringing purple back.

However, if we can get our run game going again, and our Line can start blocking, then I think he stands a chance. Probably won't win the superbowl, but could go deep.
