Wait isn' t this the exact same situation as we had with Robinson last year, quite the breakout season he had for us. Don't put too much weight on Taylor...I don't expect a whole lot.

Yeah, the ball will be spread around to mike williams, burleson, taylor, robinson and wiggins.

    You crazy Jdogg

If TT has more than 500-600 yards I'll be happy. I don't wanna rip into the guy before he's even played for us, but I don't see him having as big an impact as other people do.

Yes the Raven pass offence was pretty naff and yes Boller might not be the best QB in the league. But when the ball hits you between the numbers and you still drop it, it's not a good sign.

I hope he proves me wrong but I'm not getting overly excited by him being on the roster.
My head is spinning round, I don t know what to do...

he didnt have as many drops as ppl say he did... also he did have over 800 yards one year... as much as randy had last year hah.. but yah when ya have success at running as much as they did there isnt a need to pass that much.. Taylor will be fine.. he isnt awesome but he is a quality pick up.. i still think we will draft a WR no doubt

I am not sure myself about a break out year but from what I have heard/read he has the speed that I wouldnt be surprised if he moves up to no. 2 before the end of the year if he can make the catches and plays needed. I just hope he is the man to fit the spot, I like his attitude and his athleticism.

Here's how Mike Tice put it:

The Minnesota Vikings have signed Taylor to a two-year contract. "Travis gives us a player with a tremendous amount of potential and the ability to be a game-breaker," coach Mike Tice said. "He will have the chance to showcase his skills with us."
    (Updated 03/16/2005).

    Fantasy Analysis
Taylor should be the No. 3 WR behind Nate Burleson and Marcus Robinson

And here's a great Stats/History for Travis Taylor on the Batlimore Raven's website (while they leave it up).

    http://www.baltimoreravens.com/template.php?subsection=player_bio&player_id=00000 00023

Get to know your stable of Viking Wide Receivers! Travis, welcome to the Vikings! Marcus is in the groove, with veteran experience, leaping ability and leadership for whoever is new or coming along. Burleson is on fire. 'Nuff said. And K Campbell appears to not currently be carrying weapons while looking like the weed smoking guy in Scary Movie, with giant clouds of smoke wafting out of the car when he rolled down the windows to explain to the cops why he's driving down the wrong side of the road. (BTW, this is not what Men do, Kelly.) Ok. OG Campbell aside, let's not forget we also have soft handed barrel bodied Wiggins plowing across the middle, making DB's hold up thier coverage, rather than the other way around. We have Mewelde Moore who plays like a bionic power switchblade and I can't wait to see him lined up in the slot. SOD, Bennett, Moe can all catch the ball out of the backfield.

Sure, we're going to have well over 100 yard running per week. But I think Daunte Culpepper throws for 5000 yards this year. Seriously.

Gotta love it Viking Fans, we already have tremendous talent and good Draft Picks to go. Edwards and Williams both look incredible and there are an amazing number of great players in the entire draft. Everyone gets something at the Draft. We're going to improve our team no matter who we choose.

Once we draft Williams or Edwards and they show they are studs in the preseason and camp, then Taylor will battle for time with Robinson. Taylor has a little talent, but I definitely don't see a breakout year unless injuries strike.
As far as the Stokely comparision ... he can't have a year like that because our offense does not provide as many opportunities for a third receiver and utilizes the tight end and RB's a lot more than that Indy offense.
And whomever it was that said Manning is a product of his great receivers, blah blah blah, remember, Harrison, Wayne and Stokely were NOTHING before Peyton ... Harrison was already getting talked as a possible bust when Manning gave him some work ethic.
