C4 ran like a 4.4 or something around there.

Maybe Ciatrick is a cross between Ciara and Patrick.

    Re: C4 Expectations?

I think C4 will be a beast. He has great speed, enough power for a RB, everything a RB needs. I think that C4 and MM are the vikings running backs of the future. We should give him the start for a couple of the games and see how he does. He should do punt returns also (Burleson is a hell of a returner, but i would hate to see him getting injured returning a punt). I have high expectations for him. He was our steal of the draft. BTW, What is C4's number?

    Re: C4 Expectations?

I think C4 is the best back we have personally, but I would prefer give Bennet the bulk because he has earned a chance should he be healthy to keep a job that was his. Im not sold on Moore because he cannot block at all and his hands are questionable. I do like Smith too though. I really look for us to move Bennet or Smith before the start of the season.

I haven't really seen much Gator's games, but can Fason block?

Me personally, I would like MM to start. His hands are very good. Yea, he his horrible at picking up the blitz, and I hope Tice works his a** off on trying to improve on that. Then Tice should let Fason proove himself, and if he does, then they should split up time in the backfield.

Tice said they have no expectations of Fason at the moment awhile back right after the draft.

His 40 time was 4.6 during a rainy day in 40degree weather.

C4 is was great at picking up the blitz in college. He's just a humble, hardworking guy who's thankfull for all he has...He's a perfect fit for the new team mentality, will do anything to help out.

    Re: C4 Expectations?

Last year we usually carried 4 healthy RBs on the active roster. Those spots are obviously reserved for Bennett, Smith, Moe, and Moore.

As for kick-off returns, the most we can have is 2 and really those spots are Onterrio Smith and Kelly Campbell's spot to lose. If Campbell doesn't play for us, then there is going to be a battle between Howry and Mewelde Moore (who has really a snowball's chance in hell of being the starting RB. He can't deal with injuries, he can't block, and he can't deal with good defenses. He is our 4th best option at starting RB next year).

On Punt Returns there is going be some spilt time with Smith, Howry, Williamson, Burleson, and Moore. I think Williamson will probably return punts. Travis Taylor has been impressive for us so far and if he can prove to be a good # and an awesome #3 like I think he can we will risk Williamson on punt returns, which I am fine with considering he is really good at it.

On just special teams, Fason is a long shot there too. With our depth at Linebacker and in the secondary, along with Larry Ned playing pretty decent there last season, It's going to be tough for Fason to get on as just a special teamer.

In short, there really isn't a place for him. The reason I don't think we've heard much hype about him is because he'll probably be forced onto the practice squad for 2005. With either Bennett or Smith (and maybe Moe) being gone next year he'll get a shot on the active roster and maybe be able to spell Mewelde Moore could win the job in 2006 (assuming Bennett is either injured or not with us).

I know Fason has some wonderful upside but I think this was one of three bad moves we made in the draft: 1. Taking Dustin Fox 2. Taking Adrian Ward 3. Trading a 5th to move up in the 4th and taking Fason.

There were plenty of other project RBs good enough to be on our practice squad available when we would have picked in the 4th, and we could have used that 5th round pick.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!
