But what would the "job" really entail if it isn't REALLY a true GM position?

Someone to look at and evaluate FOOTBALL players, and not track stars that are lightning fast, but can't play a lick. Napo is a great athlete, and fast for a LB, but we all saw what he did on the field. Speed isn't everything, and some PPD seem to think it is. There's more to a great football player than a 40 time. Look at Krause for example. He still holds the record for career int's and in today's game probably wouldn't get a second look because he didn't run a 4.4.

Is Bud pushing for him?? I would love to see more of a return of the hardcore old days Vikes and it sounds like thats whats going on w/Childress and his going to shore burning comment. Is Studwell being retained in scouting???

I read somewhere that Paul K's record is considered "unbreakable" with our current crop of backfield players. That does not mean that it won't be broken, it would take the current contenders at least 10 INT's per year for the remainder of thier careers. I always had great respect for PK, great player, devoted family man, brought much respect to his team, and the NFL......

Depends on how long their careers are some players like DeAngelo Hall could make a run if he can get 6 a year for the next ten years (he would only be 32 or 33 then) he would have 68 ... but you are right ... it would be damn hard for anyone to get there ... Ty Law leads active players with 46 and he is 31 and has no more than four years left.

Paul had 81, so if DH had a couple outstanding years he could do it but its doubtful.... Paul played in an era where you still had to work in the off-season to live the life and players would play for the love of the game not the amount in the account.

But what are his qualifications? I will always be a huge fan of PK since I actually got to see him play on TV many times back in the day, but can he really do the job...or is this just for nostalgia's sake (no offense to Paul)?
