We just got rid of one problem-child in D. Smith, and now another one emerges.
I understand he had a tough year w/ the loss of Sean Taylor and the up and down season, but at his age (and previous troubles) Big Mac should know better.
Hate to say it, but the past couple of years I have secretly hoped we would find a replacement for BMac that was better at pass protection and more nimble of foot.
There are some decent options in the draft that might fall to us.
I'm feeling a draft day trade if that happens.
BMac for Fitzgerald?
i dont think Bryant is gonna get in big trouble with the team, he is not a repeat offender like dwight was, he should be fine.
Maybe he needs alcohol counseling.
He is drinking in his MySpace photo.
Seriously, as a professional athlete is that the picture you want up as your default?
Several people came forward & attested to that. Thusly, all charges against them were immediately dropped.
Either way, he should not be out messing around all night, especially after what happened to his former teammate and friend.
If so you need to check some of your facts.
Taylor was killed during a home burglary that went bad.
The
people who killed him thought he was going to be out of town.
Taylor died protecting his long time girlfriend and 18 month old daughter.
I don't see how that is related to partying...Zeus wrote:

It's a tough call for me.Look, people get into fights.
It's something to be avoided of course, but sometimes there is no way out.
According to reports however, this wasn't the case. McKinnie chose to return and continue to press the situation. He deserves whatever punishment he gets.
Is this the type of distraction we want for our favorite team?
If the story proves to be accurate, I would fully support a deal to get McKinnie out of Minnesota.
I wouldn't support trying to deal him out, but I would support a suspension.
Our OL is finally performing to the point that we want it to.
It took two full years for Hutch and Mckinnie to get to the point where they can anticipate each other's moves.
Destroying that chemistry because of an isolated incident is a bit harsh IMHO.
I would rather see a suspension and fine but I wouldn't argue if the punishment was more severe.

That would be intriguing.
Sending one of the better LTs in the game and a first round draft pick for a rookie?
Talk about a fairly one sided trade...Zeus wrote:

I know.
What I'm trying to say is that he should be trying to keep a lower profile so that these thugs don't see him as a target.
There was an ESPN OTL report talking about all these professional athletes that get around people with bad intentions that have suffered violent acts in recent years.
It is ignorant for these grown men that have a high profile to be out at the clubs wearing thousands of dollars in jewelry at 6 a.m.
Rock out with your cock out!!!

Re: Bryant McKinnie arrested in Miami nightclub fight
O, Come on guys the Vikings dont have the balls to release McKinnie.
And if they did cause of this one dumb incident they are retarded..
Dwight Smith was expendable..but Mckinnie is hard to come by..so yea..the vikings dont have the balls to do it

Re: Bryant McKinnie arrested in Miami nightclub fight
McKinnie is a football player.
A guy filled with testosterone.
I am not going to make too much of this, I will let the coaches and management deal with this how they see fit without passing judgment on the guy myself.
He obviously went back to the bar to get into a fight with the Bouncers.
A judge might see this as premeditated.
Interesting, will wait and see what happens.

Re: Bryant McKinnie arrested in Miami nightclub fight
Cut him, everybody keeps telling me we should cut everybody, so cut him already.
I have a new policy if any Vikings player is caught doing anything he should be cut, so lets cut him.
