I agree fully. Of all the talk about backs to bring in I think Ricky would fit great."sleepagent" wrote:
So you want us to pay MORE than we got last year for a WR that is a year older and has been hurt again this year??? I love Moss too...but Al Davis is gonna have to pay US to take Moss back...we are not going to end up on the losing end of another Herschel-type deal (that hurt just thinking about it!).The pathetic play of the offense is the DIRECT result of our trading of MOSS. Think about what we got for one of the games best receivers - a benched HARRIS and useless rookie WR.
It's time to get back MOSS (just like we got back Fran back in the 70's) for our 2nd round pick, HARRIS, & that useless rookie WR. Now Oakland will have money to go get OWENS.
With the improved defense, our offense will get back in gear for a run at it in 2006!
Oh ya, fire TICE too - he's had his chances and has done less with more than either GREEN or BURNS.
Besides, TWill will be a real threat next season...we would be much better off picking up Sticky Icky...same down sides, but much better upside with Ricky...what we really need is the everydown RB that Ricky would provide...he would be a much better return for us than Moss could be...especially with our new and improved STUD DEFENSE!!!
I loved Moss, felt like I was nailed in the gut when we traded him and I hate watching him wallow in Oakland, but to even think of giving up a younger WR and a draft pick for him is silly right now ... especially with rumors of him being cut, etc. No doubt Moss still has talent and explosiveness in him and we mis it, but we have the pieces and the more important thing right now is a back to make everything work.
That being said, should Moss be cut ... then make an offer for sure ... Moss, T-Will and K-Rob next season should be great for Daunte's return ... but I do think that is dreaming.

Re: BRING BACK MOSS
People are so f'n stupid. It really is simple why our offense doesn't move the ball, why they don't score. If you know football you can answer this question.
NO OFFENSIVE LINE
Imagine if we had an offensive line with the players we got, Koren Robinson, Nate Burleson, Mewelde Moore, Michael Bennett, Klinny, Wiggins, A SMART QB. Imagine if they could open up wholes for bennett the way they do up in Kansas City, watch one of games and look at wholes Larry Johnson has to run through.
Then Imagine this we get Culpepper back, he's protected by the offensive line he gets in a rythym, and starts to do those unbalievable things he did last year, those throws that looked fake, the scrambling ability.
This offseason should be all about keeping our defense together, resigning Burly and K Rob, then attack free agency with a bang, go find a couple of mean mugging maulers for the offensive line. Build that oline, thats why tice should continue to stay the coach, this is his team, he built it from the ground up and he one position to fix till we are elite SB contenders.
Moss has nothing to do with this, moss cannott fix the run game, nor can he give the time our QB needs to throw the ball. Open your eyes and quit listening to the commentators and media.
