THANK GOD!!!!! I don't know how ecstatic I am about this guy yet, but anyone other then Elling is a vast improvement!

He has a real strong leg and is probably better at kickoffs than field goals the Packers drafted him in the 3rd round of the 1998 draft, but he couldn't beat out longwell and has had some injuries that has kept him from sticking with a few teams.

I know one team had him on their roster to do kickoffs.

Yes, but he is also 21-28 between the 30-39. In other words, every kick will be an adventure. On the good side, he kicks off fairly deeply.

I just want to see the ball land in the endzone on kickoffs not in the hands of the returner on the 20. I'm gald they made this move.

I live two hours from washington (where Conway used to play) so i get to see all the skins games. I think that he was one of the numerous kickers the skins used a few seasons back. I think he was the best one that they used all that year.

Conway reminds me a little of that punter we picked up. The Packers had picked him up as a mid-round draft pick, then he blew like five field goals in a preseason game. He went in the next day and was so shook up, he over kicked and injured his leg in the process.

Longwell got the job and has never let go.

I always liked Conway, but I always thought he's had a shattered confidence. I hope he works out for you guys in 14 of your games.

...and here I was thinking that he reminded you of that punter because you used a third round pick on him, and then he didn't make it to the regular season on your roster. (Okay, I know sanders could still make it, but so far, he hasn't looked like a 3rd round pick should.)

I don't think he will, but that's my opinion.

I think its for the same reason. There is so much pressure on a kicker/punter who is taken so high in a draft that they succumb to it. Kicking is 90% mental, anyway, and if a kicker loses it, they're done.
