BREAKIN NEWS: Red picks up Tice's 2005 option

Just heard on the 'FAN, via Tice's Monday press conference.....said Red called him around 11am CST this morning and said he was picking up his option for next year.

I don't have a problem with it, even though I know some of you are gonna run out onto 35W into oncoming traffic after reading this.

Lose Randy Moss for 5 games...Matt Birk for half a season.....Kleinsasser for the year....10 guys on defense who can't hold Kevin Williams's jock.

Without new ownership a new coach wouldn't really matter so I guess this is for the best. Maybe we can have a healthy year next season and get our D more familiar with Cottrell's schemes. If so, we should improve over this season.
    Even babies know the difference.

Well, since Red is too freaking cheap to get a good coach anyway, I think its for the best.

Please Red sell the team! Or spend some money to give us what we need!

I do not think Cottrell will be back next season, at least I am hoping so! His defensive play calling is a joke!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

You do know that part of the defensive shortcomings ARE from the fact that we have had a different coordinator every year for the last 4 years correct? Let's stick with someone for more than one season before we judge how well they are doing.

I think the move is weak. I have no clue why Tice made that deal in the first place. I think Red should either kick his ass to the curb or hook the brotha up with a longer contract and commit to Tice.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he just hopes that by signing him another year the players will be juiced for the Washington game. That would mean at least one more game and one more penny to pinch.

I'm not a huge fan of Tice, but a lot of people here have given some seriously intelligent reasons for keeping him over the last few months and I have swayed to the dark side. I'm actually glad the ape remains i just wish red would go bye bye.
