    BOTTOM LINE....

    I must admit I liked the fact we got childress to "lead" ths team, but two years later etc....
    Doesn t anyone know anything about GREAT leadership?
    Great leaders take the blame for all the losses and defeats problems etc...they give credit to prasie to their players soldiers etc.. when there is victory!
    Not once has Mr C done this...
    Sure he may be satisfactory, competent or even good but GREAT teams have GREAT leaders therefore win THE BIG games i e super bowl.
    He is mediocre in my honest opinion now in reflection of course so many other s esp in sprts are the same...
    Again s**** runs down hill.. and it is his fault and no one elses period for his inability to coach inspire and motivate meaning empower greatness in his team therefore he has to go and we NEED a GREAT coach or should I say a GREAT leader nuff said end of story!

    That is NOT the end of the story.
    You expect the super bowl in two years or it is failure?
    After the crap that he inherited from Tice?
    He inherited the worst 9-7 team in football history, with no QB and the best WR a drunk.
    What he has done in two years is pretty damn good.
    We have a very young team that keeps on showing flashes of brilliance.
    We are coming off from a 6-3 winning streak and just missed the playoffs.
    For the first time since Denny left, I actually have hope for the next year.

    This absolutely is not the end of the story.
    It is just the beginning of a very long one...

    Simple Simon met a pieman going to the fair;
    Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Let me taste your ware"
    Said the pieman to Simple Simon "Show me first your penny"
    Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Sir, I have not any!"

    Simple Simon went a-fishing for to catch a whale;
    All the water he had got was in his mother's pail.
    Simple Simon went to look if plums grew on a thistle;
    He pricked his fingers very much which made poor Simon whistle.
    He went for water in a sieve but soon it all fell through;
    And now poor Simple Simon bids you all "Adieu"

    Re: BOTTOM LINE....

    Maybe he does take the blame for some or all of the losses.
    Just because he does not come out and say it means nothing.
    He may just have a different approach to that.

    You can only judge his leadership by what the people he is leading think and do.
    You cannot judge it by mistakes and the win/loss column.
    How are you sitting in front of a TV and PC judging his leadership?

    You say he is to blame and he never admits it.
    But you also say shit runs down hill.
    Well, whgich is it?
    His fault or the players and others that are downhill?
    The way I see it is Chiller is on top of the hill.

    Childress took a 9-7 team and turned it into 8-8.

    No matter what anyone says, that fact alone speaks for itself.

    The Vikings were 9-7 the year Childress arrived.
    Childress was 6-10 his first year and 8-8 this year.
    He is not the man for the job.
    I agree!

    Childress is all theory and no results. I am sick of this. We need results, not theory and "the future".

    That was a totally different team.
    Things were clean-up and it was a new team.

    He went from 6-10 to 8-8 period.

    Re: BOTTOM LINE....

    I must have heard something different then because I have seen B.Childress say his game plan was lacking, or that he made mistakes in various ways several times this season. He also has come to bat for several players after having poor performances.

    Look....I am not a huge B.Childress fan but there were many other factors involved with many of our games this season. The biggest one (Stands out like a sore thumb) was critical turnovers. In other words...poor player performance. That is not on the Coaching.

    With that said....Yes...I would like to see some improvements next season in game preparation, game planing, play calls, and other areas that the offensive coaches are responsible for. I don't believe B.Childress did a bad job this season. Just not enough Oarsman in key positions to get the Vikings ship into the post season. Mistakes by inexperienced players, and poor performance by other key personnel in several games hurt us a lot....especially in the stretch run (December)

    Coaches were not able to change direction and help make us less predictable in the last 3 games either. We had no consistancy on offense at all. Defense was pretty darn good most of the year.

    BOTTOM LINE: It was a TEAM effort that gave us the 8 and 8 season.

    Cheers!
