Re: Is this the Blueprint to stop Ad?

Urlacher lived up to the Fathead. No doubt. He even played carefree like the idiot highschool kid that was blowing off his classes and strong-arming geeks
and/or his girlfriend (played by Gillian Barberie) into doing his homework in that lame Nike commercial that portrayed some kind of heaven where overrated players go when they die. No This is no blueprint. Urlacher realized that he wants to see Gillian in the afterlife and played accordingly.

If 78 yards rushing and 2 TDs plus 17 yards receiving is stopping AD, we are in good shape! GO VIKES!

we were just lucky that the Bears didn't have any offense to speak of tonight. Washington will take a much better effort than this if we are to have any chance to win next week.

    Cheers!

Well get used to it.. until TJ learns to punish the defense for overcommitting to the run... teams will load up and beg the Vikes to pass the ball.

But he didn't have a great game but it wasn't a bad game at all... just keep playing the ball control type of game, avoid the big mistakes.. let you defense carry you until the opposing D wears down, then secure the game away. Not the most exciting brand of football.. but it puts up the W's... who cares.

I don't think it's so much a blue- print to stoping AD.
It's going to stop anyone. Blitz constantly, and play the pass on the way to the run.
I think it's important that we go out and get a great WR in the FA market. We need someone that will prevent
these 8 man fronts. I know everyone hates him but Randy could do well to shut that down. All we would have to do is keep him happy. A constant S double team keeps the other safety in line.
Exactly what I was gonna say.

And if it can stop AD, you can stop anyone.

While Portis, Betts and Chris Cooley are far better then the people at the same positions for the Bears Todd Collins isn't any better then Kyle Orton and our defense should deal with him as well as they looked in tonight's game.

8 in the box the blueprint to stop AD???

nah.. i think AD was taking it easy on them. we beat SF with out AD basically. And we beat the bears w/o major AD contribution on the ground, he just pounded the ball in the red zone.

but seriously... 8 in the box has been put on us a lot this year. we just didnt execute out TWO (i say this again... TWO) back system. CT didnt get as nearly many reps as he needed for our running game to be in full swing. that's what makes the running game so potent, its that we can speed on 1st and 2nd with AD, and pound with taylor on 3rd. CT is amazing on the DRAW!! OMG!!! He took ten yards on a thirds and 11 draw.

the only way to stop AD is to not do the correct game plan. AD and CT feed off of eachother IMO. we just didnt use them affectively today. we will need to do it better next year.
i m better than you, so just give up...

Washington has little on the offensive side too with Collins playing QB.. sorry but same type of team you are with a lesser running game and run defense.... play solid turnover free ball and wear the D down... should be your game to lose.

the big thing wasn't just that they put 8 in the box... if you watch on some of those replays, not only were there 8 in the box, but they blitzed a corner or two also, almost committing the entire defense to the run.
if they do that every time AD hits the field.. it'll cost them in the long run

I agree with whoever said that we're telegraphing the run.
We shouldn't ALWAYS put CT in on third down.
Let AD play a full series once in a while.
Other teams are starting to get the mentality where they think "oh, they're DEFINITELY, undeniably going to run" whenever they see AD come into the game.
Hell, we could use Peterson as a decoy on third down - they'd bite on the playaction if it was 3rd and 20!
