Re: Blown TD call = Loss?
The officals sucked. No doubt about it. Even the Steeelers fan that were watching the game with me said the officals sucked.
1. The Robinson catch was a TD.
2. The 3 and 10 was short. It was stupid we had to fight for ever call.
3. The push off from Randle EL. (We wasted a challenge)
I mean that's when I knew were not playing the Steelers we were playing the NFL Front office. I think this game was a message from the league clean your act up! We probaly will get a fair shake in Baltimore then Chicago.300

Lets not forget that catch on fred smoot where they guy was clearly short of first down and the steelers challenged and they won.

Re: Blown TD call = Loss?
Nobody has mentioned yet but the first down they gave bettis right before big ben's TD run. It was 3rd and short we stuffed them pretty good and from the replay i'm damn sure he didn't get the first down untill he was on the ground and reached foward after his progress was stopped. I believe it was Darren Sharper and Brian Williams who pointed out the spot and they gave bettis a hell of spot giving him the first down.
I seen the replay before even seeing where they spotted the ball, after the replay i seen where they spotted the ball.... so i just started swearing uncontrolably.
Anyways to the original poster i agree 100% the outcome and the rest of the game would have come out different. Good point on how chances for TD don't come along that often against a good defense like that.
I was disappointed in the reffing, especailly from that crew. Anyways i'm ready to forget that game ever happened.

This game also reminds me of the Bucs game. We held the RBs out all day untill one big run. Alot of similarities!

In all honesty, this was one of the most poorly officiated games I've had watched.
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

That's not true. The officiating was not all that bad. The TD was arguable either way - I saw it as a TD but the field judge was standing right there and saw it bobbling. A good team would've just punched it in on the next play, but we simply didn't execute. There were 3 or 4 calls that could've gone either way, and they didn't all go against the Vikings. The punt fumble was arguable, and we caught a break there. In all honesty, this was one of the most poorly officiated games I've had watched.
The reason we lost had nothing to do with the officiating. That's just an excuse. We had problems executing and Pittsburgh made fewer mistakes than we did.
Bottom Line: You can't make as many mistakes as we did against a good team and expect to win.
Thanks PPE for the sig.

The officials would overturn themselves and then almost turning the call back over again. The first down when Smoot hit the guy was crap, I saw instances of contact beyond the 5 yrd. line on recievers on multiple occasions. That should've DEFINATELY been a TD by Robinson."LuckyVike" wrote:
