    Blown TD call = Loss?

I know its a bad excuse - and we made turnovers and stupid penalties..

But as i think about it.. the "not to be" Marcus Robinson Touchdown - ment much more than seven points..

If we would have gotten that Touchdown we would have the lead 7-3..

Our first turnover comes from that shovel pass.. its clearly that the pass is way overrushed.. if we would have had the lead, i dont think that Brad Johnson would made that decision to make i risky pass like that.. infact it was only 2nd down, so we would have had 1 more shot at the endzone..

The second turnover also comes from going 100% for a TD.. - at this time we are behind cause of the Ben TD..

we could have settled for a FG here.. so actually we could have been up by 13-10 by halftime.. if we would just have taken it easy..

I think that the fact we didnt get the lead in this game, was a big factor we lost.. cause we overrushed things..

    Well my thoughts..

Thumbs for to Steelers for an awesome defence.. allthough i think we could have beat it..

Re: Did referees cost us the game?

I think if I had to say one play that hurt us the most the entire game I would say the 72 yard punt return.

The refs made some horrible calls IMO, but I will never blame them for a loss, mainly because it pisses me off when other teams try to pull that.

Take the Bulls Jazz playoff game where Jordan obviously pushes off, or the Jazz Lakers game with a phantom foul on Kobe to win it. Those are the calls that I am willing to say lost a game.

There was still time to play in the Vikes/Steelers game, still plenty of opportunities to compete. We didn't manage to match them.

Nope - Johnson took a risk with that shovel pass, but it could've paid off with a TD.

He still takes that risk if we're up by 4. I definitely thought that it was a TD, but that's just how things go. Overall, I thought the reffing was pretty solid - they couldv'e easily made some other mistakes like that fumble on the punt that went our way.

Plus reffing is never a good excuse IMO. We got our chances and we didn't take advantage of them - we simply didn't execute.

    Thanks PPE for the sig.

Re: Did referees cost us the game?

I know that we could just have won it at some other points in the game.. but against a Steelers defence, we wont get to many chances and if would have gotten that TD - we would have been more likely to control..

Im not trying to excuse our loos with the refs.. just pointing out that seven points - ment more than just seven points - especially in a close ballgame like this one..

EDIT: I guess i chose the wrong title for this
Changed it from Did ref cost us the game to this now

With the mistakes the Vikings made on sunday I cant blame the officials. I understand what you are saying about us having the lead and that might have eliminated some of the mistakes. But we are still the ones that made those mistakes and with the way we played on sunday we did NOT deserve to win that football game.

Lets not forget that 3rd and 10 where they clearly were short and tice challanged the call and the refs gave them the first down. I believe that they scored a FG on that drive.

Than again, I wasn't suprised to see that It was Fred Smoot covering on that pass play. I am starting to hate Fred Smoot right about now.

They can protest it, but the most that will come of it is an official "OOPS MY BAD"

For real?? It's over dude, let it go... It's like
complaning to the ref about a holding
call in the forth that happened in the first.
The call did suck but it's over. We are now
    playing for a draft spot......
