Vikings | Blaine City Council might seek a stadium vote
Sat, 23 Sep 2006 10:15:05 -0700
Dave Orrick, of the Pioneer Press, reports Blaine City Council members told city workers it might ask voters countywide if drawing the Minnesota Vikings is worth a tax hike. The city will draft a resolution urging the Anoka County Board to ask permission from voters before a county tax is in place to pay for part of the Vikings' new stadium. Spring Lake Park, Ham Lake, Centerville and Oak Grove hall all passed similar measures with carry no legitimate legal weight. However, the same move in Blaine could carry weight with voters.
