A little late for that. That should have been addressed two years ago.

In a system such as ours that is difficult to learn & has been said it takes 5 years to master (Look at how long it's taking the veterans) we should have already been taking care of business.

If he sits out or calls it quits, kiss the season goodbye. We'll be relying on Marrdro's boy Mozes to run the line. A kid who has yet to take a snap in the NFL during a regular season game.

Rookie mistakes will get made & Jackson will be on his ass a lot.

Of course at that point, the majority of the Jackson haters will be blaming him instead of the new kid on the block. Missed assignments would also mean no holes for AD either.
exactly, Birk is the core and the anchor of our offense right now.
He deserves an extension, like 3 years or so, and to retire a viking

And without McKinnie, our line would look like this..........

Keep in mind, this complicated O-Line supposedly takes 5 years to master.

    Artis Hicks

    Steve Hutchinson

    Dan Mozes

    Anthony Herrera

    Ryan Cook
    (Chad Johnson)

    (crickets)

    (Crickets)

    (crickets)

    (Marcus Johnson)

The FO has been neglecting the depth and development of our OL for the last 2 years and I hope things don't come back to bite them in the butt.

    No kidding.

I hope this is just posturing because not having Birk for the next few years and possibly losing our LT for a time would set us way back due to the lack of depth behind them

Maybe we can draft 3 DL and 6 OL. I think that's our current plan.

So Birk will master it right before he retires?
That doesn't seem like a good plan at all. :-

Center Matt Birk is skipping the Vikings' voluntary offseason conditioning program, but his agent said it has nothing to do with a contract dispute....
