Re: Birk puts it on the line: Things will be better
Good article. If the young ones on the OL and DL show improvement over last year, we could be special up front.
I can't handle many more losing seasons, so I hope Birk is right.
Re: Birk puts it on the line: Things will be better
Less penalties will go a long ways too (can't hinder our O with long yardage), besides finding the little nuances that will help them perform better in this scheme. If Birk and Hutch have it figured out now, then maybe the young guys on the right side will get it figured out midway through the season, hopefully sooner.
Re: Birk puts it on the line: Things will be better
The O-line has a year now playing Chillies WCO ball, and Birk is a year removed from all those surgeries. He has gained weight and is stronger than last year. He should return to his pro-bowl form. I look for less pre-snap penalties and better pass protection to help Tarvaris get the ball were it needs to go. Offensive linemen love to run block, and maul their guys, we should be a top 3 rushing team this year.
