Bevell impressed by Vikings QBs

Sid Hartman: Bevell impressed by Vikings QBs

The Vikings offensive coordinator expects a spirited training camp competition, as five quarterbacks fight for what's expected to be three roster spots.

The Vikings have five quarterbacks on their roster: Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte, Brooks Bollinger, John David Booty and Kyle Wright....

Most in the media believe that the three quarterbacks who will survive will be Jackson, Frerotte and Booty.
Better damn well be. I san see losing Thigpen, but if we put Booty on the PS, someone will gobble him in a heartbeat.

Lets just hope Bevell does not have too much say in which are kept. Being a Wisconsin guy he probably has a big heart for Bollinger.

As long as T. Jax and Ferrote get us through the season succesfully I don't really worry about the 3rd spot at this point.

well having gone to the trouble of drafting Booty then I don't want to see him down as PS material all season. Lets keep him on the main roster just in case of problems with the #1 & #2 QB's with injuries. Least that way he'll learn a lot more than being on the PS.

As for Jackson, the consensus is that the 25-year-old starter has shown great improvement.

"He's light years better right now, but it's in practice," Bevell said. "You have to be able to carry it over to the field, so we've got another process of training camp, and then we'll take it to the field.

"I see improvement in every area, whether it's the mental part, whether it's his leadership skills or how he's carrying himself, where he's going with the ball -- I see improvement everywhere."

Good enough for me!

How quickly we forget.
Last year when TJax was hurt and Kelly H started he only lasted, what a quarter, when he was dumped upside down, but thank God we had BB to pull us through :
Didn't we lose that game.
Yeah, #3 can become important in a hurry.
