All of the above sounds like a great gameplan. All we have to do is execute. We must dominate and run well with AP, and CT, set up play-action, get after Rivers, which will limit the success of LT, Gates and Chambers.

We have to keep from third and long to sustain drives, as time of possestion will be important trying to keep that offense off the field while wearing down that SD defense. Shaun Phillips, and Shawn Merriman are as good as we'll face so we must run right at them to nuetralize their speed, and aggressiveness.

Lastly we have to have some big plays on both sides of the ball. Maybe even a kick return for a score.

Obviously all of the above

I guess the phrase that pays is "Score more points than San Diego". You just can't simplify it further.

Score more points than the Chargers.

here's my must do list..

1. Must establish a run first rythem
2. Use run first rythem + mixed in play action
3. more quick slants, dump offs to set 1-1 coverage for twill/rice
4. Must MAKE tackles.. stop them at first touch
5. win the turnover game!
6. EXECUTE.. (make catches, make blocks, make plays happen!)

and for me the most important of all..

7. NO STUPID penelties

Force the Chargers into passing situations.


I know, our weakness, however, something from a stat page:

First-year coach Norv Turner had Rivers attempt at least 30 passes in each of the first four games, and San Diego lost three of them. The only game in that span the Chargers (4-3) ran the ball more than they threw it resulted in their only win -- 14-3 over Chicago in the season opener.

Thier opponents so far have 130 first downs to SD 126 with 71 of the first downs coming via the pass.
The chargers avg 7.7 yards per pass and thier opponents avg 7.3.

They also have less offensive yards than thier opponents 2244 to 2312

They have a Average 5.5 per play while thier opponents have had a 5.3 avg.

Of course with LT on thier team you would expect this but they have rushed for 864 yards while thier opponents have rushed for 622 yds at a meager clip of only 3.6 per rush.

Our offensive lineman need to come up big on 1rst downs whether that is a pass or a run.
We need to get a good average on our first 3 or 4 series to get thier defense reacting vice dictating to us.

Additionally our DL (DE) need to step it up and get to the QB just a fraction of a second faster this week to make Rivers chuck a few into bad situations.
That would give Sharper a chance to pick a few off and shut his yap up a bit

The injury to thier C puts Cory in there.
I think that is being a bit ignored by most.
I look to see Phat Pat, K-will and Marcus in the backfield all day.
That will cause LT to shift out of his running lanes, break the pocket down and force Rivers to our DE's.
Watch Keneche and Robison have a huge day on the LDE position.

Sharper also needs to make sure that he doesn't get his ass burned by Gates as he gets a chance to step up and make plays this weekend.
