I've noticed that also. I've seen several threads where members have referenced being at the game, yet they don't bother stopping by the tailgate for even a miute or two to meet there fellow bretheren.
Perhaps some folks just aren't comfortable in that sort of setting - it's not a problem.

But I encourage all PPOers who are coming to the game on Monday Night to stop by the tailgate!!
You'll be welcomed with open arms!

Maybe that's what they're worried about............you hugging them.

You can find us there. There is a map & some more info in these threads. The one is for the Bears game, but we'll start another one when the Redskins game rolls around.

That's a very good spot to tailgate. All the construction around the Dome has basically ruined all the great spots along Washington Ave. Get there early, there aren't very many lots around the dome...
I have no idea what Soto is talking about here.
PPO has 5 spots in this lot, plenty of room, coolers, tents, grills, etc.
    All are welcome.
Park someplace else and walk over - that's what I do (and everyone else who comes to the PPO tailgate party does).

    =Z=
I've been to your tailgate, the Falcons game this year. As for the number of " PARKING LOTS" AROUND THE DOME, THERE AREN'T MANY. No where near as many. C'mon dude, been there dozens of times, all the way from Los Angeles...
    Very well said
"brother" as I to was at the falcons game as well as the Raider game and have traveled to the dome from LA for the last 15 years for
the vikes I must say that tailgating has been diminished by at least 50% due to the condos and apartments being built on washington ave. heck even the liquer store is gone now!! PATUEY!! I can ONLY hope that IF there is a new stadium built that REAL tailgating is taken into consideration and NOT seperated parking lots. I just got back from the Frisco game and even THAT place has a better tailgating experiance...ONE GIANT LOT SURROUNDING the stadium!! How many of you kids ever get out of Minneapolis to see what else is out there....god help me for saying this but even the PACKERS have a better situation!! THAT STINKS....ever seen pics of the OLD MET...Now THAT was tailgating!!
I guess when your born and raised eating Mcdonalds all your life you never get to appreciate a double pastrami cheesbuger from Jims Superburger....Now THATS good eating!!
Kinda like staying with your grade school sweetheart for 20 years....c'mon get out there and taste some strange.....live a little....it wont hurt!!
Im not hating the dome tailgate...it is what it is....its just that it can be A LOT better!!
    Exactly !!!

I love going to Minnesota for games at the Dome, BUT, the parking situation stinks out loud !!!

As you put it Patrick, it's hard for people to get it when they've never been to other stadiums where ONE HUGE parking lot surrounds the stadium, not one here and there around the stadium, ONE HUGE LOT !!!

I had friends and family who went to the Raiders game with me and even though they had a great time and nothing but good things to say about their experience that day, they did point out that the parking situation was a joke, They reminded me how the Raiders tailgating is, ONE HUGE LOT around the Coliseum.

Minnesota Vikings football back in the days of the Met were like that. But when you have this discussion with alot of teenagers who are yet to leave Minnesota, it's hard to get this point across ...

    Don't get me wrong..

I love the tailagating there but it can be better like the "Good Old Days"...

But for all of you that still think that's there's plenty of room to tailgate around the Dome, look online of arial views of other stadiums. Look at the HUGE SINGLE PARKING LOT that surrounds it. Then maybe the point I'm making will become clear...

Boy, if I am just a teenageer who has yet to leave minnesota, then I must have been really fucking young when I was in Kuwait during Desert Storm...

Yes, many of us have been to other stadiums, and we do know that the parking situation is better at some (not all) of the others.
But if you can't find a spot to park when you go to the dome on Sundays, then you must be driving with your eyes closed...
It is all I can do to avoid running over the parking attendants waving those bright orange flags for parking.

You are correct in that most of them are not lots - they are ramps.
I don't know if you have these in California, but they work very well for parking your car in.
No, you can't tailgate in the ramp - you have to go to a lot for that.
And I give the Vikings credit for leasing those four lots around the dome to create approximately 800 parking spaces for tailgating this year.
It is a step in the right direction.

You have a few years on me, but yeah, more or less the same.
And I think you would be surprised by the average demographics of hte members here.

As far as Vikings - yeah, we do need better parking.
But it is a helluva lot better this year than past, and most of us are happy for at least that improvement.

Is Oakland coliseum in the heart of downtown Oakland?
The Dome is - and that limits options.

Better to bitch and whine, I guess, than make the best of a situation.

Physical surroundings may vary from place to place. It's the spiritual and communal experience of shared fanaticism that makes those physical surroundings the "BEST PLACE TO TAILGATE".

We can play mine is bigger than yours but I'd rather just find a way to make the best of what I've got and enjoy the experience.

And tailgating with the PP.O crowd has been great. And I shall be there Sunday to do it again.
