    Berrian, "If We Have To Cut Ties...."

    Berrian has a salary cap number of more than $6.25 million this season and the Vikings project to be just over the cap. But Zulgad points out coach Leslie Frazier predicted a major role for the speedy wideout this season.
    “I'd have to go back and talk to my agent (Drew Rosenhaus about possibly restructuring) and have all the talks and discussions that we need to go through for that," Berrian said. "But whatever happens, it's going to happen. One way or the other."

    “What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

    with all the WR FA talent out there, he's not going to get a big payday this season anywhere. His best bet would be to re-structure, prove that he belongs here and re-establish himself as a decent receiving option. If we lose Rice, we'll NEED somebody who can play. Harvin and Camarillio don't quite instill fear, at least Berrian CAN be a threat. Cam, not so much.

    Berrian Not Worried About Being Released

    Vikings coach Leslie Frazier made it clear at the NFL owners meetings in late March that his intention was for Bernard Berrian to play a big role in 2011 and that the team had no intention of cutting the wide receiver.
    All indications are the lockout will end this week, perhaps as early as Monday, and Berrian said he will come to training camp with fresh legs.
    Then he will pull a hammy and ride the bike on the sidelines the rest of camp, just like every other year.

    Good. I"m a believer that you can never have enough talent at receiver. We saw last year what can happen if a playmaker or two go down. Berrian although is not a great receiver, is an alright option as a #3 or 2 if needed. Cutting him just for the sake of cutting him, like I've said about McKinnie too, would be a dumb move.

    Not a fan of Berrian at all, but we sadly probably need him. He's extremely over paid, but maybe he'll actually stay on the field and produce this year!

    It doesn't matter if he is paid millions or the league minimum if he can't produce. Last year he couldn't get open or beat anyone deep.

    I would prefer to cut him and take a flyer on a younger, hungrier receiver than keep a mediocre receiver because we fear the loss of Rice.

    Besides, Frazier told Pat Williams the same thing, He wanted him back. I don't think Pat will be back, either.

    I think we need to keep Berrian. He has been nagged by injuries the last two seasons and EVERYONE except for Harvin and AD underperformed last season, so I am not going to hold that against him all that much.
    BB was solid for us when we went to the playoffs in 08 and was good again in 09, though he was hampered by injuries again.
    I want us to keep him with or without Rice. With Rice, Harvin and Berrian we are good at WR. Without Rice I think we almost have to keep him.

    yep I've always been a believer that a WR needs to be a decent option. In Berrian's case it would also be an idea if he could keep himself fit and injury free for a season :laugh:

    I would like to see us bring Moss back.
    I Still believe that a healthy Rice, Moss and Harvin Combo is perfect for this offense. Havin BB rotate in the three would be beneficial for all.

    I would like to sign Holmes over Rice but I don't think that is realistic.However, given that Harvin is a week to week decision, ever week....we need more playmakers at the WR position.

    Rice = May leave...Health
    Harin = Headaches
    BB = Hammies
    Greg = Role player at best
    CFL guy = CFL guy

    This is our WR corp
