Will they run or will they throw? That is the question, and the answer will be a key component to the outcome of Sunday’s game between the Vikings and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.....

The day after the Vikings' 23-16 loss to Green Bay sent them into their bye week with a 1-3 record, coach Brad Childress identified six areas where his team needed work..........
    Category: Must-pass situations

Childress specifically referred to the "two-minute" drill in addressing this issue, adding, "Let's say at the end of the game where there really is no doubt what is about to happen." He undoubtedly was thinking of the Vikings' 13-10 loss to Kansas City, when they got the ball with 1 minute, 39 seconds left at their 20-yard line. Holcomb completed four of seven passes and was sacked once and as time expired, the Vikings found themselves in a fourth-and-22 at their own 33. The Vikings also failed in the two-minute offense in the fourth quarter against the Packers as Holcomb had a pass intercepted on second-and-10 from the Green Bay 34.

The quote: "It's about everybody being on the same page," Jackson said. "If they bring a different blitz everybody has to make sure we are aware of it and we pick it up. From the line, to the quarterbacks making the right read, the receiver getting the right depth, to even the back chipping on a defensive linemen to being out on his route. Pretty much everybody can improve on that situation."

Outlook: The Vikings haven't used rookie running back Adrian Peterson much in these situations because he continues to learn his responsibilities in pass blocking. Still, after a week off, it will be interesting to see if the coaching staff has found a way to involve their biggest offensive threat when it counts the most.
    Didn't you hear..........
There is no must pass situation when you have AD on the team.

According to some on here, along with a couple of idiot announcer/analysts, all you need to do is hand the ball off to AD.

    Damnit........
I'm so tired of getting it rubbed in my face how that damn Childress guy isn't using AD correctly.
Sure wish he would get some more production out of this guy......... :

My vote is run him till he can't run no more, then run him again.

Chicago’s defense has not performed up to last year’s results, largely due to injuries and also perhaps due to a less explosive Bears offense.
    Hmmmm.
We don't have an explosive offense and our D is still performing.
    Something to think about.
Maybe the coaching staff on one team has thier players ready to go and the coaching staff on the other isn't doing so well at that. Hmmmmmmmm.

The change in quarterback has done little to stabilize the position and it doesn’t yield any conclusions as to whether the Bears will now begin to run the ball more or stick to their passing ways.
So much for the "We need to have a Vet who can start if the starter struggles" mentallity.
Heck we all know these old guys on the bench are there for a reason.
    Cause they belong there.
    They
    aren't starters anymore.

It becomes increasingly important to protect the QB when he’s young and gaining confidence -- a description that applies to Jackson. The Vikings defensive line will do fine…the offensive line needs to play better than it has.
The OL better have thier asses out of thier heads today.

    ;D
