Backing into playoffs no issue for some Vikings players

I hate the term period & to me it holds no credibility. You do your job on the field, win enough games & you're in.

The order you win them in IMO doesn't matter. The teams don't pick their schedules. Some teams play less worthy opponents late in their schedule, some play them earlier.

I believe the Giants clinched a playoff spot/divisional title on a week in which they lost. It would be stupid to consider that "backing in"

If we beat the Giants the game before the playoffs I am sure we will have enough motivation and momentum going into the playoffs.

and if we get in with a bears loss....who gives a fuck we won more games so there for we deserve it....

and if we dont get in....well fuck

i think we need this game no matter what...why even convey a loss when we can get 10 and some momentum plus I'd hate to go 9-7 again...geesh its like we are sitting here saying "lose, the bears will lose- nothing is god darn guarenteed

I've always believed that. The order of the schedule & your wins & loses shouldn't matter. What matters is you won enough of your games to earn the title or wildcard spot.

If the weeks we played the Giants & Cardinals were swapped & we had lost to the Giants that week, won the Cardinals game in week 17 & the Bears lost in week 17, does that really change things?

Does it matter in terms of getting into the playoffs? Definitely not. However, the other factor, as you know, is momentum going into the playoffs. That is why the Giants are playing to win on Sunday. That is why going into the playoffs after two losses to playoff-bound teams is not a good thing.

It's not that I think we really have to be 10-6 instead of 9-7, but I want that momentum.
