What s the difference between a Viking and Packer fan? One is not facing federal charges for viewing animal pornography and sexually assaulting animals at rural dairy farms.

    Back from Mankato

I just came back from my road trip and I was in Mankato Thursday night thru Saturday evening. The intrasquad scrimmage was cool to watch. There were good plays on both sides of the field. Kevin Williams had a couple of sacks and one player to keep an eye on is #31 Jones. He made a couple of good hits and its good to see that. On Friday, I saw the two practice sessions and went to the Youth Football Coaching Clinic at the MSU Ballroom. I'm not a coach but it was very interesting with speeches from Coaches Tice, OC Scott Linehan, DC O'Leary and ST coach Tillman and for the $10 I got a ticket to the scrimmage, a t-shirt and a playbook with a clipboard. There was also all you can eat Domino's Pizza, BW3 wings and beer and soft drinks (Miller Lite, MGD and Pepsi products). I was surprised it wasn't filled to capacity. It must have been too late in the evening for many people (2100-2315). So I have to give a big round of applause to the Viking Marketing Dept. and to the people of Mankato for a good time. But I'm ready for training camp to end and to get the season rolling!
