Build it and they will come.
LOL!
Zygi is a business man.
If I recall he grew up a Giants fan.
He's not Snyder or Jerry Jones, who not only have incredible zeal for their team since they were kids, they also have LARGE MARKETS.
He's putting lots of $$$ into the Vikes in hopes MN will help build a new stadium for a successful franchise.
If not, he will have more influance with the NFL owners to approve a move or sell to LA.
Just as Chilly is telling TJ, "its just business".
I am sure Zygi has passion for his team that he owns and will want to do something here in Minnesota.
I agree with the author on this one.
It seems what scares everyone is the lease ending, and the Vikings not willing to take out a new lease. Well, they're not willing because the Dome will probably be Vikings property altogether in a couple months. We're so far passed getting a stadium approved, financed and finished before 2011 that Wilf would be moving the team if he were going to move them. He's got tons of real estate by the Dome and is probably waiting for the Twins to vacate, leaving the Vikes the sole renters/possible owners of the Metrodome. Then he can use the shell of the dome in new construction, taking $200 mil off the price, and the Vikes will play some hard-nosed outdoor football at TCF.
I'm glad you edited out the reference to "Kidney Muncher" & "Farva beans" in your plea Neph.
No poblems Singer! I try my best!
You go, Neph!!!!
There's a few things I have never understood about the new stadium and I'm hoping someone will show me where I'm wrong.
Why don't the Vikes build a dome instead of a retractable roof stadium?
It would shave off about 150 million and could be built more quickly.
If that's the case, we could even build the new dome in place of the old dome (saving even more money).
Even though we would have to set up shop in the new gopher's stadium for a year.
I've never been to Minny, but I understand it gets really cold really quickly so it would probably end up being a dome for most of the year anyways.
