Going into camp and the preseason I was fairly certain Shodu would retain a spot on the team. He put up nearly 500 yards last season and already had an upper hand in "knowing the offense."
But the numbers are just starting to pile up against him ... especially with the rising play of Stephen Burton. Sure, Shodu has a shot at being around while Simpson serves his suspension. But once Simpson is back, I think the spots will be eaten up by Harvin, Simpson, Jenkins, Burton and Wright.
In the end, Aromashodu gets open. That at least lets our QB make a throw to give us a chance. We go nowhere when receivers can't get open.
Last game Aromashodu had a couple rough breaks on sideline catches and a brutal PI non-call. If Webb gets those throws a foot or two more in bounds, Mush has two very nice medium-long balls and 80+ yards receiving, probably a TD.
I say this preseason, keep feeding the guy the ball to see if he can actually produce or not.
I would not be against this. It definitely is an odd stat they throw out when they talk about his number of targets and his number of catches, sometimes that can be more on the QB than anyone else obviously.Quote:

If so the numbers don't mean as much.Even without McChunky you still have to consider that he was having Webb and a rookie in Ponder throwing to him. Not surprised he had a low percentage.

Did anyone watch the game? Joe Webb's throws were horrible. Both on the sideline were uncatchable. The one over the middle was even worse.
