    Parking sucks.
It is 25 bucks to park in the dirt lots around "Candledump park".
There is a large group of Viking fans that come from the Bay area, Sacramento, and SoCal that tailgate in section V.

If you are going to park in Section V, you will need to purchase a parking pass for the paved lot.
You can get these off of ebay, craigslist, or the 49ers ticket resell site....
the parking passes can be had for about $40.
If you want to park in Section V, you need to be waiting at the gates at 9am.
(They open the gates 4 hours before kickoff).
By 9:30/10am...you will be parking in the dirt, regardless of the pass you have.....the paved lot fills up fast.

The fans are not too hostile.....
you might get a few drunkards talking smack....but nothing like across the bay where you might get beaten up!

You do get pretty good TV reception from the parking lot if you bring a TV for the early games.....
other then that....have a blast and SKOL!

Let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you.
I've said it before and I will say it again, ..........

It is posts like this that make PPO the greatest fan site bar none.

    Excellent post my friend.

    Vikefanman2000,

    Thanks for the information.
    It is greatly appreciated.

Hope you and your son have fun watching AD tear it up.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Vikefanman, THANK YOU SKOL SKOL SKOL

Hey does anyone know if Gilbert from So Cal Vikings Fan Club posts on here?
We haven't seen him since the Viking Dinner thing 17 years ago!
I wonder if he is headed up there.

Another question, you referred to Candle as a dump.
Is the area surrounding it safe to walk around?
Like if we walked to the game.
    I'm looking at all options.

Just where a " Rainbow " colored shirt over your game jersey when walking around outside the park.
You'll be safer than hell....... ;D

I referred to Candlestick Park (Monster Park) as a dump because it is old and decrepit!
    The stadium is falling apart.
Most likely, the escalators will be broken (like always) The Stadium sits all by itself, out on a point that extends into the San Francisco Bay.
There is nothing around the stadium to walk to or from.

There are nice hotels between the SFO Airport and Candlestick…but they are not walking distance.
You can take the shuttle buses in from the hotels though.

    Where are you flying into?
    SFO?
    San Jose?
    Oakland?
BART is a pretty good way to get to the stadium…..then just find the Viking fans at lot V and hang out until kickoff!
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Re: Anyone going to the 49r game this Sunday?

Yep....I will be at this one and I am hoping to meet a few other PPO Cali members there. It's always a dilema on what to where for recognition in the crowd. Especially when you are a fan of the visiting team. I thought about my Jerry Garcia Sweat Shirt....but those will be to common there....next I thought Tie Die?? Nope....Loaded with those in that area too. I therefore am forced to where my Vikings Horn Hat with the 49er doll of Alex Smith Gored and hanging off the right horn. If I survive the first quarter looking like this I will be surprised.....so please try to find me quickly...Actually the Niner fans are pretty cool most of the time in SF.

I have seen a lot of Vikings games in the Bay Area....wins....losses....heartbreakers, nail biters.. etc. Call me crazy but I think the guys in the Red and Gold will be playing all out...for pride...if for nothing else. I think it would give Nate Clemmens and the rest of the 49ers Defense a great lift if they could shut down Adrian Perterson and somehow get a win as a spoiler/underdog on Sunday. It would not surprise me at all if this game turns out more competitive than some might think it will.

I think the Vikings will win this game and I am jazzed to be going. Hoping for a great game and another Vikings Win.

    Cheers!

OK, nix the idea of walking then.

Oakland, Southwest doesn't fly to SFO from ONT (which I didn't know until yesterday).
Then we'll get a rental car and probably stay somewhere near Monster, narrowing that down.

Do they have potties in the parking lot?
    I'm a girl and don't do trees.
    LOL
