I think that they did, but he did get other offers to play elsewhere.

He resigned on Monday and had interest from 4 or 5 teams (including Green Bay) that were willing to give better offers than the Vikes.

But his agent said that Koren wanted to play here and that Tice & the Vikes were the only ones that contacted him when he was in treatment, And the only team that was trying to help him.

So they turned down the other offers to play here!

Here is an article on where K Rob, T Will, and M Rob might fit into the mix.

The short-term loser in the Minnesota Vikings' signing of wide receiver Koren Robinson could end up being rookie Troy Williamson, who apparently is having a tough time running crisp routes. If Robinson can pick up the Vikings' system quickly and keep his life in order off the field, the organization thinks he could become a quality starter. As far as this season is concerned, that's not good news for Williamson, who didn't have a single pass thrown his direction in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.
While Minnesota still has designs for Williamson to be the complement to Nate Burleson, his production this year will take a hit if Robinson looks ready to contribute by October. Robinson is only on a one-year deal, but if he puts up good numbers, his long-term prospects might make Marcus Robinson the odd man out in the receiver rotation.

As far as I know he signed a 2 year deal! The second year the Vikes have an option, it had a pay increase for the that year. Unless they changed the contract that was originaly agreed upon.

This is a great front office move by the Vikes. Now if he pans out they can pick up the option, or sign him for a longer contract. If he doesn't clean his act up and they don't want him around, it won't cost them much to go "snip snip" and cut him.

It was a two year deal before we relased him prior to our week one game. When he resigned, it was only a one year deal.

    Thanks Phlegm!

I knew that originaly it was 2 years, but I was not aware that they changed the deal.
