It's not long. But it still says a lot.
That almost made me cry ...
I wasn't alive then, but i think i will watch it on the 25th. maybe i will learn something
Who was that guy? Poor dude..
that would be Jim Marshall I believe...
NFL Films has produced a new series of shows.
They are meant to highlight some of the great NFL Teams who did not win the Super Bowl.
I just watched America's Game
"The Missing Rings:
1969 Minnesota Vikings."
There are many NFL Films shows which highlight past players like Page, Marshall, Tarkenton, however, this is probably the best compilation of interviews, highlights, and insights into a Team which explains why I'm a Vikings fan.
Imagine watching this season unfold as a 7-year old South Dakota boy as I was fortunate enough to have experienced.
I grew up idolizing Lonnie Warwick, Carl Eller, Jim Marshall, Alan Page, Bud Grant, and Bill Brown.
How on earth Jim Marshall is not in the Hall of Fame, is beyond me.
The leadership qualities that the men on that team had are legendary in my opinion...all spearheaded by Marshall, Grant, and Kapp.
40 for 60 was brilliant, but the background to where it came from is impressive to me...never really had an appreciation, until watching this show, of Joe Kapp's leadership qualities.
Yeah, he was tough, always knew that, but, wow, what a leader he was.
I guess I was always tainted by the way he left, and how his career ended.
Wow, what a team, and, what a show.
Check it out on NFL Network.
