I thought you said you had talked to Favre about retirement?!

Really man, announcing this early is not likely to get you out of training camp.

Should have flip flopped a little while longer.

(Just kidding: I'm overjoyed to see that Pat is coming back, but I do think he should have tried a little harder to get out of training camp. I think he could have gotten away with it).

Yes, disgusting picture. I've seen him play a few times and liked his style. My take is that if he can be that dominant as a fat out of shape bastard, think what he will be able to do with some NFL-style conditioning under the tutelage of Phat Pat for a season. I'm all about inking Cody.
I see what you like in Cody, I do, but I think I would like him better at 350 than at 370. But getting him down another 20 pounds might be too much for us, especially since 370 is down from his high school weight of over 400.

I just don't see the Vikings as being the team with the discipline that he would need to get the weight off and keep it off. I think with us he'd be more likely to blow back up. We do sort of have a weight control problem with the Vikings.

I think I'd rather see him go to a team that could make him keep the weight off, rather than inking him ourselves and either risking his joints through the excess weight or being in constant trouble with diet drugs and their questionable ingredients.
I admit that hanging out with Phat Pat probably isn't the best weight reduction plan. I'm thinking that suspensions are hanging in the balance and I have heard nothing but good about the conditioning coach, Kanavy. I would expect him to get the fat boy into playing shape. Phat Pat is a freak of nature and I think Cody could be too with the right conditioning.

I don't think we could go wrong picking a top-notch D lineman (or an O-lineman) in the first round. It's not a glamorous pick, but those are the keys to winning...strength in the trenches. Just not sure if they can get Cody into decent playing shape...but I don't know enough about him to make a proper comment.

Re:Agent: Pat Williams 'is playing' next season

How much is he gonna get this year?

Look, I love the big man to death, but he sure seemed to be taking alot of reps off last year. We need to sign JK and pursue a kid in the draft, and not that tub of lard Cody.

    Weaknesses:
    Lacks lateral agility
    Not very versatile
    Motor runs hot and cold
    Loses stamina late in games
    Not a productive pass-rusher
Might be too big and could affect long-term health
Could stand to lose some weight in his "bubble"
    Leverage can be a problem
    Really looks slow at times
Doesn't make many plays outside the phone booth
    Lacks range

Summary: Terrence Cody is a solid nose tackle prospect, but I can't put him on the same level as a Casey Hampton or Vince Wilfork just yet. Cody isn't going to fit most teams running a 4-3 scheme. His lack of stamina might really hurt him on Draft Day. He is a projected second-round pick at this point. Cody is going to be a two-down player in the NFL.

I'd much rather see them wait until the second and go with a guy like Lamar Houston, Cam Thomas or Mike Neal.

It appears to me, that the first round of this draft will see alot of OL and DL go early which probably won't leave much in that regard for the Vikes to look at.

Would I love to see a Dan Williams or a Brian Price fall to us? Sure, but don't think its gonna happen.

On a side note, if it plays out the way I think it will, it leaves some nice options at CB, QB and G/C prospect available.

Most mocks have guys like Donavan Warren CB, Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Sean Weatherspoon, Brandon LaFell, WR, Jermaine Gresham, TE, Pat Devlin, QB, Tony Pike QB, Bruce Carter, OLB, OLB and Jared Odrick, DE/DT (mostly because of the DUI thing) available when we pick.

That isn't bad pickings if you ask me.

Dem's fighting words. Get some shirtless pics of your boys and see how pathetic they look. I'm basing my man-love for Cody off of watching him play and I never do any mocking or care much for it, but, in Cody's case I am on the bandwagon for this offseason. He plays tough. No, I'm not some scout, but, I keyed in on him in four games that I went to last year and watched his play. I liked what I saw. Does that mean anything? No. But, I think that guy with the requisite transition and conditioning would be a force in the NFL. With the Vikings he has the perfect situation now that Phat Pat is coming back for a another year. As long as Cody does not get the McKinney disease he would be a huge asset for the Vikings. Cody is to Prophet as Favre is to marstc09.

LOL, I thought you only stepped out on a limb for LSU guys. Isn't Cody from Bama or something like that?

As to your post, don't get me wrong, I like what he has to offer, especially if he can get into game shape. Problem for me is I'm not so sure I would take that risk, at least not in the first round.

Course you could call me silly for thinking a guy with a DUI problem isn't a risk as well.

I'm not thinking first round either, he probably won't be around in the second, maybe, I don't know.

No, I'm not an LSU guy. I can't stand LSU. I'm more of a SEC guy, just because I see a lot of those games and have season tx to watch Mississippi State get pounded on by the various powerhouses in the SEC. When I go to those games I just watch the lines primarily and Cody stood out. I didn't know about the DUI problem, although i was seriously bummed when I saw his shirtless picture...made it tougher to defend my man-love for him. I guess the Vikings new psychological duo interviewers can interogate him at the combine and see if he has the McKinnie trait or if he is moldable into an NFL player.

Cody doesn't have the DUI problem, the guy I'm looking at there (Jared Odrick) does, along with a disorderly conduct citation or something along that lines.
