With 1,200 yards rushing and just three games remaining, Adrian Peterson seemingly has no shot at breaking Eric Dickerson's 1983 NFL rookie record of 1,808 yards, but the Vikings' single-season mark of 1,521 is still within reach........

Re: Adrian Peterson's new target: Robert Smith's rushing record
yeah too bad for Ap to not have that opportunity to break that record thanks to GB injury but hey Rob Smith
record can go down no offense to him but Ap can take those numbers easily. Go AP ADI am THE #1 Sidney Rice #18 Fan ever! Don't Be surprised when this kid IS a superstar! He is humble, smart, tough, talented and has alot of character! Takes alot of pride in his work, team, fans and life. Watch out for this kid! I think he is awesome! Everytime he touches the ball its MAGIC!

Re: Adrian Peterson's new target: Robert Smith's rushing record
With teams focusing there efforts to stop Adrian, it will take a strong effort by our offense to get Robert Smith's single season Viking rushing record. Personnelly I'd like to see Tarvaris step up and win a game or two down the stretch for us. Adrian will get all the records soon enough. He only has to average 107 yards per game down the stretch and that's easily attainable. I want the maturation of this offense to continue, so they become very well rounded, both passing, and rushing.

I don't think that will happen.

He's got a notebook stored away of records and such on his list.
Why do you think he's always petitioning to get in there for more yards like in the Detroit with the win at hand?
AD, very disgruntled at his SF performance even though they got a much needed win.
Fans and sportswriters have a desire for AD to bust records.
He has stated himself a desire to bust records.
His contract/paycheck bonuses clearly states compensation according to records... and interestingly enough, NOT the team's W/L record, but AD rushing stats/records.
So, hate to bust bubbles, but AD has records on his mind.

Re: Adrian Peterson's new target: Robert Smith's rushing record
Hey let him want the records....keeps his hunger there and the legs pumping!...Should he only be focused on the records? of course not.
But whatever he is using for motivation has been working so far and I doubt that getting three extra yards here or there instead of a winning TD by someone else would be more important to him.Lets go fishing
