Adrian Peterson is a Pro Bowl running back for the Minnesota Vikings, but when he looks back at his college career he still has two major regrets.....

It's kind of funny he's still upset he didn't win the Heisman when he was a freshman. He's had one of the greatest starts to a career the NFL has seen, but losing out on votes to Leinart, over 5 years ago, haunts him.Adrian Peterson still sore at USC

Re: Adrian Peterson still sore at USC
Let him use those "disappointments" as fuel to the fire for wanting an MVP and a superbowl title, both in Viking purple.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Yeah, if anything I'd think watching Leinart fall flat on his face in the NFL would feel pretty good... while AD is having one of the best starts to a career. Ever."singersp" wrote:

The Heisman isn't really that important of an award though... mostly just hype.
I'll only include those that help my argument (but there are a lot... and I only went back to
1996...), so here are some "prestigious" winners:
1996 Danny Wuerffel (Well, he won MVP in the World Bowl.)
1999 Ron Dayne (He had a good year... oh wait, no he didn't)
2000 Chris Weinke (Sucks when he plays with kids his own age.)
2001 Eric Crouch (Hahaha...)
2003 Jason White (I think he's selling tractors now.)
2004 Matt Leinart (Speaks for itself.)
2005 Reggie Bush (Best KR and PR ever drafted #2 overall...)
2006 Troy Smith (Troy Who? Oh, the QB that a rookie started over...)
After reviewing that list... I'm happy Peterson didn't win.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

All that means is Heisman doesn't mean you will be a star, but it doesn't mean that by winning the heisman, you're now automatically a bust.
If anything, it proves that college success does NOT often translate to NFL success.
