Vikings Sign Adrian Peterson to Five-Year, $40 Million Deal, $17 Million Guaranteed

The Vikings have reportedly signed first-round draft pick Adrian Peterson to a five-year, $40 million contract, ending Peterson's three-day holdout.
The report from Adam Schefter of NFL Network (via Pro Football Talk) says Peterson will be guaranteed $17 million, and that if he lasts all five years, his annual average of $8 million a year would make him the highest-paid running back in the league, topping the LaDainian Tomlinson's contract with the Chargers. By signing a five-year deal, Peterson will have a chance at free agency a year earlier than most top draft picks; most teams insist that top picks sign six-year contracts.
Chiefs running back Larry Johnson will no doubt look at the $17 million guaranteed for a running back who has so far proven nothing in the NFL as evidence that he deserves significantly more than the $14 million guaranteed that the Chiefs are said to be offering.

Actually "macguitarman" posted the signing first in another thread about 3 minutes earlier than Singer in the "Adrian Peterson" thread. I wish it would have been a four year contract rather than 5.

Well, no matter who posted it first, the important thing is that AD is a Viking now.....
Maybe PPO should lose all the AD threads and just start a new OFFICAL AD Is a Viking Thread........
So we can all play nice.... ;D

As I said in other thread,
Can't wait to hear Paul Allen (PA) saying the following and quite often,
"and Peterson is loose, he's gone, Touchdown Vikings!!!"
