Re: Adrian Peterson predicting 2000-yard season
The guy sets the bar high for himself, i like that...2000 is huge though, i don't doubt he can do it, but maybe not in 2008, unless our passing attack improves...if that happens, and he can avoid injury, i have doubt its something that he can accomplish

Re: Adrian Peterson predicting 2000-yard season
I'm so in love with this guy.
I have no doubts he can do it at some point, I don't think that it will be next year with our horrific passing game though.

Re: Adrian Peterson predicting 2000-yard season
He won't as long as Chester gets a significant amount of playing time that he has gotten now he won't pass 1750+
I like the 1-2 punch combo and rather have that than AD running it all the time.Rosie O'Donnell is a dude!

Re: Adrian Peterson predicting 2000-yard season
wasn't the last guy to say this, that beat up running back who used to play for the Texans?
I don't like promises like this as they are put under the microscope and anything less is considered a failure.
let alone having to worry about his knee not getting reinjured and all.
on the lighter side, if he is getting 2000+ yards, then that means that defenses are scared of our passing attack and cannot afford to overstack the box.
So who is the reciever that causes this fear?
Randy Moss?
Cuz it surely ain't Troy Williamson!

Re: Adrian Peterson predicting 2000-yard season
?? Is it good for the team ??
How successful are the teams that have had 1800 plus yard rushers?
It didn't help the Lions, that is for sure.
AD probably helps the team more with stats like Emmitt Smith's.
AD should be a top 3 rusher in yards, tds, yards from scrimmage, that would be the best for the team along with a balanced offense.
Not saying he should not set his goals high, but he is starting to sound like a "me" player or it is just because he is a young buck.
Saying that you will get 2000 yds is like saying I am going to go to the store, it leaves out a lot of stuff in the middle.
Are you going to drive, walk, or take the bus.
Point being, what is it that is going to take him the 200 more yards to get to that goal.
Is it better vision? Is it better blocking by the line?
Is it better Nike shoes?
More carries?
It would have served him better if he would have said my goal is to get more all purpose yards.
That is about all I see him improving on, pass catching and involvement in that part of the game.
That gives him some increased touches with the potential to get more yards.
There is one thing that is for certain, he wants to be the best of all time.
Anyone that sets those kind of goals, obviously is thinking about it.
The stupid store analogy is something that is a little more easily obtainable for me, than it is for AD to get 2000 yards.
But, the difference is that I am in control of how I get to the store there are some variables that are out of my control, he isn't in control of the yards.
He has to earn them along with the OL, coaches, and the rest of the offense in conjunction with the opposing defenses.

I would much rather see TJ throw for significant yards (nothing huge), CT and AD both get something over 1,000 yards rushing and our Defense again hold the league to low rushing yards.
That my friends would be a balanced attack and would bring us a hell of alot more closer to BLV and most of us want, a SB.
Of course you could go the other way and wish for him to get over 2,000 so your Madden Vikings team would be betterMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
