While that's entirely true, that's also why they are called highlights.

Portis was until the redskins started to fail really really hard. Jacobs and Jones should not even be on the list. The jets fail because of Favre, and when jacobs was out the giants still ran all over teams, including us.

Williams has been so solid all season. Him not being in the pro bowl is a crime and i think i would put him in over jacobs.

but really, this poll comes down to two people Turner and AP. In another topic on the same matter, i said that turner is more valueable to his team and if we had him instead of AP we would be in generally the same situation. Looking at their numbers, they are pretty much the same but Turner has more tds and less turnovers.

It didn't look like Turner helped them all that much tonight

DeAngelo is a very good back, but I don't think he's the "most valuable" RB to a team.
The Panthers have a very capable back in Stewart (altho we have a very capable back in Taylor as well).
But the big thing, is during the early stretch of the season - DeAngelo struggled, but the panthers were like 6-2? during that span.
He got 11 of his TD's in the final 4 or 5 games.
He's a very impressive back, but idk if he is the most valuable RB.
I'd give it to Turner before him.

What about Forte? I think he's completely left out of the discussion, the Bears would have been NOTHING this season without Forte, he's a great player.
He had 1715 yards from scrimmage, 12 total TDs, and ONE fumble all season long.

    Exactly.
Look at Manning tonight. (not that he didn't do well, but he LOST.)

Wouldn't superbowl MVP be much better?

Wow no. 1 and no. 2 in mvp voting played like highschool backups! (bit unfair on manning but he was still average.) Turner proved hes a mediocre running back. Once AD runs all over the iggles, the people who voted will look like idiots wont they.

Peterson is clearly the best in the business, hands down. Size, speed, vision, toughness all make him the best. Only running back in the nfl to have it all.
    T-Jack + AD + B2 + D-line + Toine = SUPERBOWL!

Re: Adrian Peterson - not the most valuable running back???

When I look at the numbers, there's two things which seperates Michael Turner from Adrian Peterson.
    1.
Turner has 3 fumbles, Adrian has 9.
    2.
Turner has 17 touchdowns, Adrian has 10.

Apart from the first reason, I don't think that's very convincing numbers to why Turner should have received more votes than Adrian.
The number of touchdowns are far from the first thing I will look at when I judge a player.
As I remember, Michael Turner has had many short goal line runs this season, but Adrian Peterson has not. I don't have the statistics over it, but I think Turner has had many more opportunities in goal line situation than Mr. All Day. Turner had like 3 one yard touchdown runs in one game for instance. It's not Adrian's foult that he hasn't had all the opportunities like Turner has.
