Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
I don't think that AD is going to win the MVP, even if he continues on this pace.
My understanding is that something like 50 members of the media vote on the MVP.
Do you really think all of these guys watch all of the players?
So this is basically a statistical award that favors the QB.
Brady has amazing statistics.
Most of the voters aren't going to look closely at the fact that Brady has been consistantly missing his receivers downfield for at least the past 5 weeks, only to be bailed out (repeatedly) by Randy Moss.
They aren't going to factor in the fact that he has all day to throw.
They're going to look at his 60 TDs and the Pat's record and say he's the most valuable.
It's just an award though.
It's nice, but it doesn't pay the bills and I don't get to watch the award play on Sundays. When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
Peterson is carrying a team. Brady has Maroney, Moss, Stallworth, Welker and Ben Watson. It's unfair, but Brady will get the MVP and his groin will reek of the media's collective saliva for the rest of our lives.

Not a chance for AD.Do you think if AP breaks the rushing record(not to put the cart in front of the horse but...) do you think that will garner him the MVP, or is it too much to overcome with our team record and Brady being on pace for like 64 tds.
Has it ever happened where someone breaks a big record like the rushing record and been shut out by someone breaking a different huge record in the same year?
I'm sure the homers here are all babbling endlessly about weapons and more with less and crap like that.
The Patriots play like the Vikings w/out AD when Brady sits (Matt Cassell, phew), but run wild when he plays.
He's the MVP, no doubt it my mind.

Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
If he just does what he has been doing, and the vikings somehow get back in the playoff race...i say he has to get it. Brady is maintaining a great team, while AD is throwing an average one on his shoulders and taking them to the next level. Its amazing how a running back can get not only his offense hyped up, but he is making the defense want to play just as hard.

Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
if the vikings SOME HOW made the playoffs, i think theres a legitimate chance for AP to get MVP, just cuz he basically carried our entire team there (pun intended).
But if we dont, no, Brady is a lock.

Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
Brady 95 percent shot to get it
I see it SOMEWHAT like the Peyton and Pep year
Peyton broke the record for Tds and had a buttload of yards.. Pep did REALLY good but Peyton took his team to the playoffs and had alot more wins
Like everyone is saying if AP can get 2000+ yards and 20+ TD's and break the rushing record along with gettin us to the playoffs then he has an outside shot
But Brady is on pace to shatter all QB records and possibly go undefeated

My understanding of the MVP is that it has to do with the value to the team as well as great personal performance for the year. AP is more valuable to Minnesota (by far) the Brady is to Pats. However, if Brady continues on the way he has so far noone could deny him the MVP, even if he did have a lot more support than AP. The stats will be overwhelming.Peterson is carrying a team. Re: Adrian Peterson MVP question.
At this point in the season, it's a no brainer,
Brady will get MVP honors if he keeps playing like he has......
