Peterson is also on his way to join a elite group of rushers that have lead the season in rushing yards and has maintained an average of 6 yards a carry Jim Brown, OJ, and Barry Sanders there were a couple of other backs they mentioned on Sirius that had also done this but they go back over 50 years, they were also mentioning that it seemed a bit more special for AD due to the fact that the elite backs value in todays game in waning and that todays game or league is a pass first offense (they didn't mention that the Vikings have struggled with this philosopy for almost the last decade)

Peterson is simply as good as a running back gets. His size and speed is unreal and his work ethic speaks for itself. I am so impressed with him as a person more and more and that is what makes him immensely more likable.
He is one of the ALL TIME greats ... not just the best right now ... not just the best Viking back, but one of the greatest to ever grace the field.
Here is to 300 yards vs. the Packers tomorrow. I can see the late game 55 yard run by Peterson to seal the win and can hear Paul Allen now ...
"Peterson up the middle ... AND THERE HE GOES ... Hello Playoffs! Hello Record! Hello MVP!"

A few more rushes in Houston could have helped if Peterson was looking for the record. Pushing the 200 yard barrier once again is a lot to ask.

Almost counts for very little in the NFL.
The Vikings could have given Peterson ten or fifteen extra yards against the Texans. I understand why they did not, but it was a big step in not achieving the record today.
Running those gut plays for TFL today also cost him, and with Clay Megahair running run blitz and shadow plays, it was difficult to run slow hitting plays of sweeps. The Vikings needed to trap more to negate that.

Wow. I wish A.D. would of nabbed himself the record.
What I like about him coming up that short is that it will drive him even harder in the seasons to come.
WOW.

Watch the SoundFX video on this page and read the article.
The Dr. says it is miraculous.
Peterson seems to have no regrets.
Could have would have should have. There are many different ways he could have got it.
AD said something to the effect in the video like, I guess there is next year.
Adrian Peterson 'defied all odds,' Dr. Andrews says - NFL.com
