AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
Adrian Peterson Wants to Discuss His Own New Contract with Vikings
With the Minnesota Vikings willing to tear up Brett Favre's contract and give him a new deal worth $1 million a game, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is wondering why he can't get a raise, too.

Re:AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
Its really not surprising. A lot of players are aware of the fact that this year is uncapped and next year isn't guaranteed.

Re:AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
Was kinda inevitable due to the uncapped year etc as VK mentioned, im sure a few more players will be following suit.

Re:AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
In light of this latest Favre fiasco, I don't blame AD.
He may have fumbled away some of his leverage in the Saints game, however.
I don't see AD making a lot of noise this year about a new contract.
But look out next year.
The way this team has dealt with Favre will have an effect on the rest of the players.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Re:AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
I don't blame him either
Favre would be getting a few mill raise just sitting at home
Adrian was already a little disgruntled about his contract allegedly..
And as mentioned above, the uncapped year
He's played real well and deserves to get paid

Re:AD Wants To Discuss His Own New Contract
I'm sure we'll get it figured out, but you've gotta be careful with what we do here.
If we offer Favre money (Still not confirmed), then guys liek Peterson, Rice, Shiancoe, etc. want money. If we give money, then some second tier guys like Leber, Griffin, Berrian, etc. want more money. Where does it stop?
Yes, there's no cap, but it still ahs to be reasonable.
I'm sure we can frontload all the contracts and be fine for when/if the new cap comes out, but thats not the point.
