Vikes not planning to play Peterson Friday
According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, AP isn't likely to play before Week 1. Per Schefter, the Vikings are still expecting Peterson to "argue his case for playing time in the game."

No preseason for Adrian Peterson
Peterson's first game action will come in the regular season, probably in Week 1. It might take a few weeks to get him up to speed, but at least those efforts can be applied in a game that counts.
