7 Points With LB Rufus Alexander
Prior to the NFL Draft, Oklahoma LB Rufus Alexander answered a few questions from Scout.com's Ed Thompson. Here's what he had to say about the kind of player and teammate he is, what he's most proud of from his college career and more...

Potentially a steel in the 6th!!
Most likely a special teamer at least!!
We know he can tackle: 79 as a sophmore, 102 as a junior and 118 as a senior (75 SOLO!!!) In his junior year, 17 stops behind the line!
While 16 blocked passes isn't that great for a secondary guy, its pretty nice for an OLB!
Nine in one year!!

I am liking this draft more and more all the time!! ;DControl the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Re: 7 Points With LB Rufus Alexander
I knew a liottle about him before the draft. But the more I read about him the more I like him I am sure that AP had something to do with the Vikes picking him up. I have seen him ranked as high as a late 2nd early third rounder so only time will tell
how good of a del we got. I think between him and Robison, we got a couple of very solid 2nd day picks.

Re: 7 Points With LB Rufus Alexander
being in Houston has allowed me to watch most of OU's games, and seeing both adrian peterson and rufus alexander for most of, if not all, of their college career. Rufus was ALWAYS a leader of the secondary, and always played extremely well.
if you would've told me that rufus went in the 2nd round, i would've felt that was a good place for him to go, but when i heard WE got him in the SIXTH round, i almost fell out of my chair!
Great pickup for us, and he'll be a solid contributor.
