6-10 ?
Had a discussion with some other Vikes fans the after listening to Tice on KFAN last night (9/21).
Mike Tice said that you need to win the division and we haven't played a division game yet.
As bad as the NFC North is shaping up to be, does that mean that we could go to the playoffs as a 6-10 team if we win all the division games and nothing else?
Scary thought!

I hope there is never a team that makes the playoffs with a losing record.

Re: 6-10 ?
We'll know what to exspect after sunday. This game is HUGE, we're at home, and if we get some momentum before the bye week it'll help us alot!

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

The reality is that there are too many playoff teams already. The marginal teams that prance in with a one-side team or that squeak by are usually schooled once wildcard weekend is finished. There is always a chance for a cinderella team, but they better be gelling and playing good ball going into the playoffs.
I would much rather have the Vikings stink it up early in the season and come on strong later rather than the 6-0 start the other year and then fold during crunch time.

Nope, not yet, not too many years ago (I believe 1990) the Cowboys went 7-9 and would have gotten in on a tie-breaker had the Saints (I think) lost on MNF the last game of the year. The Saints won and a 7-9 team was left at home again ...Hasn't someone with a 7-9 record made it before?

Re: 6-10 ?
Yeah like midgensa said it's never happened, I don't even think there have been that many 8-8 teams that have made the playoffs. I know last year was the first year that an 8-8 team won a playoff game when both the vikes and the rams did it! 7-9 in the playoffs is pathetic! (Not that 8-8 is anything to brag about!)

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

1978 Vikes were 8-7-1 and won their Division.

Re: 6-10 ?
every thing should turn for the good after our week 5 bye. but, anyhow, this 3rd week is crutial for the vikings, if they dont win, they dont have momentum going into atlanta, and then they would just get there asses kicked. The saints with 6 turnovers on monday and vikes with 8? on sunday...... great sloppy game to look forward to! We all know culpepper has potential, but can he turn it around soon enough??
Don t Give up yet, we still have a chance, just a few holes!!
