I didn't read the :"article" due to it's source, but I can answer the question without doing so anywsay...
1: Fire Frazier and get a real HC
2: Fire Musgrave and hire a real OC
3: Get some receivers that don't completely suck.
4: Let Peterson run the damn ball.
5: Threaten to show him pictures of "Naked Ned"....

couldn't agree more, ponder can play,he needs the rest of the offense to do their job.don't get me wrong he has sucked badly at times but he's also showed promise.more time and more tools to work with and I think he'll be alright.he's never going to be "elite" but I think we can win with him.

Ponder does not have an NFL arm, clear and simple. You ask him to throw over 20 yards, its UGLY period. He doesn't have the strength to throw a good out route, that where a lot of his picks come or near picks.
I think he's got ability to be a great Checkdown Charlie aka solid back up.

Have him take another step closer from the shotgun position so he doesn't have as far to throw to the LOS.

Ponder simply lacks poise. He can't pull the trigger or see the receivers when they are about to come open. So he bails out the back of the pocket and tries to ad lib. If he were Fran Tarkenton that would be great. Instead he turns into Christian Flounder!
Why?
Pressure up the middle. Pressure from the ends. Can't pick up the stunts, and blitzes; particularly the delayed blitz. Receivers not getting open and dropping balls.
Or, Ponder not seeing receivers as they come open, or so fearful of throwing a pick he won't take any risk down the field. Or perhaps Ponder just can't remain calm when pressured.
Or Musgrave calling boneheaded plays at times.
With the leading rusher and facing 8 in the box consistantly, Ponder still fails to deliver far too often.
Seems enigmatic.
I still hold out hope for improvement but he isn't passing the eye test of what a franchise QB should look like.
No more excuses. He needs to take control and make something happen. Franchise QB's can elevate their team.
Can Christian Ponder?
