I do and I mentioned it in another thread. I paid $20 last week & parked about 2 blocks from the dome.

$40 is more in the McComb price range.

Then you aren't tailgating correctly my friend.
Tailgating is an all day festival and rarely are you going by yourself.
So $40 all day with a few friends for the one spot + a charcoal dump area, restrooms etc. is much more than just a parking fee.
Plus you are as close to the Dome v. the Rapid Park lot of years ago.

$40 is not unreasonable for all of the perks.

I have paid $25 bucks to park in the dirt around CANDLESTICK DUMP (San Francisco).
I also paid $40 bucks to park at Texas Stadium in the dirt again...and at least a mile walk to the stadium....

If you are only planning on parking and going right into the stadium, you are probably better off riding the lightrail in.....if you are going for the all day BBQ and party that tailgating is really all about....then who cares about $40 bucks.....
what does $40 bucks buy you anyways??
Maybe a couple beers inside the dome??
