Maybe we can get one of the mods to create a room for this years draft coming up.

Until then, here is a nice link on the DT position.

Any of you college fans know/have anything to day about the DT's coming out?
I'm more interested in HC candidates...
I hear ya, but it doesn't matter who the HC is next year if they don't fix a couple of things for him.

They will still loose games cause they can't get off the field on 3rd and longs because the DT's can't push the middle allowing the DE's to get pressure on the QB.
It didn't matter with this coach that we fixed everything for him.

We can get a serviceable DT in FA or in the mid rounds of the draft. There are probably 12-14 larger needs on the roster than at the DT to address in the draft and a whole coaching staff to replace.

    Re: 2011 DT Draft Prospects

I look at it like this:
the Vikings was a Super Bowl team last year (Saints barely beat the Vikings in the semi-final). A big reason was that the Vikes had the best defensive line in the NFL. No one can argue with that! In 2009, The Vikes were ranked as the second best run-stoppers and the D-line had more sacks than any other team.

In 2010, the D-line is nowhere near as good as last year and the losses speaks for itself. The D-line is not holding up against the run as we are used to see and the sacks are far between. I think that Pat Williams' age may be a big reason for this years drop-off. With a young 1st round defensive tackle, I think the Vikings have the last piece to become the greatest D-line again. Plus, we don't have to worry about age anymore.

Of course, it all depends on the talent of this year's class...
