2009 Vikings Tailgating Passes Are Now On Sale
Got this email from the Vikings yesterday.
Webby/Neum - let us know ASAP what your thoughts are.
You know there are many who dearly appreciate that you stepped up and took care of this last year (and Jargo in 2007).
I never saw an accounting for last year, but I'm sure you found a way to write it off, LOL.

Tailgating & EventsVIKINGS TAILGATING CONTINUES NEAR THE METRODOME IN 2009
The Vikings are very excited to announce that tailgating is back again in the shadow of the Metrodome for the 2009 Vikings season. Beginning with the September 27th regular season home opener vs. the 49ers, Vikings fans will have the opportunity to enjoy Vikings game day just a chip shot field goal from the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.
The Vikings Purple tailgate lots will return tailgating to its proper place, at the doorstep of the Metrodome (see map below). Along with many tailgating amenities, visits from the Vikings cheerleaders, the Vikings Street Team, Viktor and SKOL Line, the new Vikings drum line will truly make your tailgating experience second to none. At prices ranging from $300 to $360 per space for the entire regular season, you will receive parking in close proximity to the Metrodome along with all of the Vikings tailgating amenities including:
- easily accessible restrooms
- garbage cans
- a secured lot and charcoal bins for easy cleanup
There are a limited number of spaces available, so please act immediately! Season passes will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Please note the Gold Lot is not available for gameday tailgating.
Webby - you can count on me to contribute if you choose to grab some passes again for this season.

Why spend $300+ to get your own spot when you can just come party with PPO?
You'll have to park farther away since you guys sometimes don't get out of bed until 9am anyway.

Probably won't end up spending the $300, but am at least considering it.
If we did that than I would be showing up much earlier.
We were just thinking we could pay for it pretty easily - with 6 season tickets it would come out to about $6.25 per person, per game.
Plus we just got a gas guzzlin' Suburban so all of us ticket holders could ride down in the same vehicle and not have to walk all of our crap down to the lot, and then find a place to store it during the game.
Not to mention we usually pay for parking some place else anyways... at an average of $15 per game that comes out to $120, which is still a considerable expense.
Like I said, probably won't end up doing it anyways but it's worth considering.
I would definitely want to stay by the PP.O group so my main drawback is not wanting to get up at 5AM (or earlier) every Sunday to ensure a spot with everybody else...money is less of a concern than my precious sleep.
Biggest drawback to this plan is that I don't think I could find anybody to watch our kids that early in the morning.
The wife plans on going more now that she has her own seat.
My guess is we won't see her past October once the weather cools though.
