2009 Free Agency
I'm looking at the list of free agents for next year, and, since I haven't seen a thread on it yet, I figured I'd start one.

Here's the list:
http://profootball.scout.com/a.z?s=1...&lnid=83&rc=16
I doubt we'll make a big splash this free agency, and I'm not even sure how much cap room we'll have, but if we do sign a big name free agent, I'd be thrilled with any of these:
1.
DE Julius Peppers - Can you imagine a line with Peppers, the Williams Wall, and Allen?
It's just too ridiculous to comprehend.
He'll command a lot of money though, probably too much.
2.
CB Nnamdi Asomugha - Someone else who will command a lot of money.
I know Cedric Griffin has stepped up his game, but this guy is a true shutdown corner.
Oakland will probably franchise him again though.
3.
OT Jordan Gross - Not that I'm giving up on Ryan Cook, but I don't think he'll ever be an elite player.
Jordan Gross has been solid since his rookie year and has finally made his first Pro Bowl.
We get any one of these 3, and I'll be thrilled.
I like building through the draft, but it's difficult to get an immediate impact player with the 32nd pick...

Re: 2009 Free Agency
I remember hearing rumors about the Vikings pursuing Peppers last off season and I mentioned how unstoppable our line would have been to my buddy earlier today. I agree that any of those players you listed would thrill me, but holy shit if we got Peppers on our line...probably better then the Purple People Eaters.

I'd love to get TJ "Who's-Your-Mamma."

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

Re: 2009 Free Agency
Haynesworth becomes an unrestricted free agent because he made the pro bowl... i wouldn't mind picking him up to replace phat pat.

Who I want:
CB Dunta Robinson
OT Marc Columbo or Mark Tauscher
There are a lot of OT and I bet we get someone.

Re: 2009 Free Agency
Tauscher would be nice, I just hate picking up Packer Players (except for those like Longwell and Sharper who said they hated the FO of the Pack)

Suggs would make for a good LE.

And I too wouldn't stealing another packer starter in Tauscher. We've needed a RT for too long.

It would be sweet to steal Brandon Lloyd from the Bears.
