I dont know we play a lot of good teams.I think the afc south is probably the best division in football team wise.Every team finished above 500 and 3 made the playoffs.I think if we get a wr so people stop putting in 9 man fronts all the time we can be a 10-11 win team.I think we should try getting fitzgerald.
    Has something changed?
That is two times today I read we should go after Fitz.

Although I agree he would bring some much needed talent, isn't he still under contract?
he is but there have been rumors that the cards are wlling to trade him.I mean think about it he would be the perfect fit here he is from minny, he was a ballboy for the vikes.Plus can u even name one wr of the top of your head that we wouldnt have to trade for?The free agent wr class is a joke this year for the exception of bernard nerrian maybe, and i think he is overrated
    Thanks.
    I thought I missed something.
    (It happens.
    ;D)

    OK.
For discussion purposes, if the cards let him go then they would want something in return (i.e. trade).
    That would probably involve player(s)/Pick(s).

I just don't see this staff giving up many picks, at least not high ones, in an effort to get another teams player so lets mark that one as out/not an option.

So that leaves us with player trade.

Who, would you offer in trade that might have value?

    a.
I wouldn't trade CT. First he is to important and I also believe the Cards are still set with Edge.
    b.
    One of our DL.
Not a chance. We need them all and of course the trade value doesn't equate.
    c.
    Possibly someone from the secondary.
    Winfield.
Never, Sharper...maybe but again, doesnt equate.

Long story short, I just can't come up with a option that would make it a win win for both teams.
We would have to hurt ourselves either with a valuable player (immediate impact) or with picks (long term impact).

Probably why you don't see big trades done anymore.

If the team becomes what we have been told it will be, then I say 12-4.

If we continue to struggle with personnel, coaching and the front office, then maybe 9-7 at the high end.

Wow....this requires one heck of a Crystal Ball doesn't it??

Well.....not much to go on yet....so much can happen in the off-season. I will try to see the positive light in the Crystal Ball here and say we go 11 and 5 and make the playoffs as the Division Winner.

    Cheers!

Hard to say, but I see us at 10-6 or so. I think with a good QB (not Tarvaris), and one more decent receiver (aside from Rice), and with Winfield back and Erasmus James, we can be decent. I think the "soul" of this team is going to be the line of scrimmage, and we obviously have built around that. We are one of the few teams in the NFL that has not built around the pass. If you look at the successful NFL teams (Colts, Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, etc.), they are pass-first, run second. We have built around a totally different philosophy, and it can work. But I think eventually, we are going to have to get a QB with NFL mechanics and who has more than a 45 % completion rate. Also, Tarvaris, unless it says "Elway" on the back of your jersey, please don't throw the ball off your back foot next season.

If we obtain a good QB, 10-6 or better.
If we stay with TJ, 8-8.

6? i don't think so...i really think Tjack will have a great season next year, especially if we do well in FA and/or the draft.
AD will break throughthe 8 and 9 manboxes for another great season, and rice will be a playmaker. I think we will be 10-6 or 11-5.

Re: 2008 predictions. How many games will the Vikings win?

For what it's worth, I'm going to go ahead and say 9-7 next year, assuming we make no major moves in the offseason.
If we somehow bring in a top QB (McNabb or Anderson), then I like us at 11-5.

My thinking is that we were 3-5 in close games, and you expect to be about .500 in close games.
That is, those games are as much as anything about who got lucky.
So I think we have about a 9-7 talent level.
    That's about it.

I'm not too worried about our schedule right now.
The AFC South was good this year, but the AFC West was supposed to be good last year.
I also have not been impressed with any team in the NFC South.
I don't know, I guess I just think it's hard to say anymore than we'll have about an average schedule until we see what happens in the offseason.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]
