Midwest Wireless Minnesota Vikings Training Camp opens in Mankato August 1

Come on out and enjoy the fun of Midwest Wireless Minnesota Vikings Training Camp in Mankato and show your support for the Vikings! The Midwest Wireless Minnesota Vikings Training Camp will commence on August 1st and the team will practice together for fourteen days before breaking camp on August 17th. This marks the 41st year the Vikings have called Mankato their training camp home.

A street party in downtown Mankato will kick off the festivities on Saturday, July 29th. Additional special events scheduled include a ‘Practice Under the Lights' on Friday, August 4th; a Youth Football Clinic on Thursday, August 10th; and a Cheerleader Clinic on Saturday, August 12th.

Autograph sessions will be held following most morning practices. In addition, there will be several other fan activities offered in the Vikings Village.

Camp will be closed to the public from August 13th-August 15th as the team prepares for their first pre-season game against the Oakland Raiders at the Metrodome. The Vikings will conclude camp on August 17th with Fan Appreciation Day.

A more detailed schedule of events will be made available to the public in early July. All times and events are subject to change. Please contact the Vikings at 952-828-6500 with any additional questions.

The practice under the lights on August 4th is also the practice against the Chiefs.

That helps make it feel like football is just around the corner!!

THATS GREAT, ITS TOO BAD THIS WILL BE THE LAST YEAR IN MANKATO UNLESS THE BONEHEADS THAT RUN THIS CITY STEP UP TO THE TABLE. THE SAD THING IS I JUST MOVED TO MANKATO

I can't wait for this to start!!! I will finally get to see the Vikings upclose!!!

I just might have to make a summer trip to Minny...especially for the Cheerleader Clinic! :tongue:

I'd love to see what the Street Party would be like..

Oh well, maybe sometime in the future.
