Going to my first home opener and cant wait to see this team live. Im more excited about this team than any in recent history.! Was wonder where the best place to enjoy a beverage and pregame festivities at? Let me here all your advice.
For those who will be heading straight to the Plaza, a group will be gathering near the Wheel of Fortune, which is near the NW corner of the plaza, just across the light-rail tracks.
I'm hoping to be there around 10am or so.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

We will be tailgating at RapidPark.
    Look for the PP.O Banner.

You can see listing of pregame events on PP.O by checking at left under Fan Line and clicking PP.O Events.
We just released this....so if you plan on stopping by, please click that you are!
(folks that did so before last week, sorry, the upgrade wiped you out...please reregister)

We will for sure want to get some group pictures up on the site.
    See you there!

If you can make it to Rapid Park for tailgating that's the way to go.
The meeting in the plaza (11:00 on the downtown side of the wheel of fortune) is just a quick informal meeting before kickoff.
We hope to see the tailgaters make it to the plaza.

I really enjoyed the plaza, I also took a chance at the Wheel of Fortune and won a T-Shirt...

I was hoping for one of the autographed footballs they had or something else, but still had a blast.
The crowd is awesome to just stroll around thru and getting to meet Vikings Fans from all over......

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

I'll be at the plaza and meet up at the wheel of fortune. Unfortunately i didnt find any swedish moosehats, nor swedish vikinghats so ill be just a plain vikingfan then try to look for someone who is solo and looks lost

Any up for a postgame beer?

Since i bought a single ticket from the net i have no clue to whom i sit beside with, heck i dont know if i even come in? Is it common to copy the barcode before you sell the tickets? Anyways it would be fun to join up for a beer afterwards.

Re: 2006 Home Opener! Pregame festivities???

Wow dekay we look forward to seeing you there.
I would highly recommend going a little early and making your way to Rapid Park for tailgating.
It looks like some PP.Oer's will be there..., just look for webby's PP.O banner.
It sounds like the tailgaters may even be meeting up at the Wheel of Fortune after tailgating.

Will you be taking light rail downtown or driving?

btw, there's plenty of souvenir places on the plaza, so you can buy a Helga Hat, purple hair, or whatever tickles your fancy.

Ofcourse I would like to do both. But since Im going to travel in a airplane for 16 hours im pretty sure im gonna be sloched on sunday. Im staying pretty near the dome so i will walk and just enjoy being in vikingscountry

And I would like to meet as many PP.Oers as possible. All have been very friendly here and im overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness.

But OK, so if im all happy happy joy joy on sunday morning jetlagged on the right side of it and im awake at say mornishtime. What exactly am i supposed to bring at a tailgateparty? is there anywheer i can buy beer? meat or what to bring, i havent been on a tailgate before so it beats me.

You taking a prop-plane from Sweden Dekay?
A 16 hour flight is unusual.

I know of a liquor store close to the dome, I think it's Depot Liquor on the corner of Washington Avenue and 11th Avenue.
The people in your hotel may know of one closer.
If you're going tailgating bring enough beer for yourself, and maybe some to share..., same thing if you bring food.
Someone there will likely have a grill if you want to grill some bratwursts, they'll probably have condiments too - don't be afraid to ask, they're nice people.
If you're staying near the dome either take a cab or light rail to Rapid Park.

    Have a blast !!
