    1st and 35?

Any thoughts of the near-180 degree turn when Johnson connected with Travis Taylor for 6 in the third quarter but the refs called a push-off (marginal, at best) AND tacked on 15 yards for Tice being on the field? Had the game been the jiggly-butt pummeling that it was supposed to be at that point, the refs would've "allowed" the TD or at least ignored the coach's penalty. Really, when was the last time you remember a penalty being called on the coach? It just doesn't happen without several warnings first. The reversal on the Manning forward pass/fumble was also technically wrong. While it WAS the correct call, it has been pounded into our skulls that the challenge process doesn't mean calling the play as if you were seeing it all over again. Rather, it is changing the call because of indisputable evidence, which I don't think there was. The replays that were shown were from the blimp or something because they were notably low-res. I'm not a big fan of whining about bad calls (particularily when my team won), but I'd like to know why this seems to happen against the Vikes (a few other teams also). Jim Hasslet, if you're logged in, please feel free to respond freely. No fines here, and the swear-tool will keep it clean.

Tice got the flag because he threw his pen on the ground or something like that. The replays show the penalty on Taylor was bogus. But in real time, his hands do come off the CBs back (even though it's not a push-off). I can accept that one (probably because we won of course!).

I still don't understand the fumble though. Even in the replays, the ball obviously got knocked out of the QBs hand, and it landed behind the position of where it was released from (backward pass). So I don't see how that becomes an incomplete pass. I could have my facts wrong here though. I would appreciate an explanation. I was very sad to see the commentators simply stayed quiet about the decision.

The refs seem to always screw us....however, the Vikes actually got some calls this game as the Giants self-destructed....which is GREAT to see on the other side for once!

    Taylors offencive pass interference call

now i kno everyone is saying our offense was non excsistant till the end and it was but, we did have a great drive with a 44 yard pass to K-rob and then a TD to Taylor that was called back because they said they pushed. WTF i did not see any push off there. i didnt see anything that he did wrong all he did was make a great catch. that sucked so much that they called it back........but hey why am i rambling on now WE WON !!!!!!!!!

At first glance I thought he pushed off, but after the replay I felt we just had a good TD taken away.

Looked to me the defender was backing into Taylor, while Taylor put his hands on the defenders back to try and keep the space. They were both looking for the ball and fighting for position. When he jumped backwards for the ball --- he didn't push off. Unfortunately the ref saw the hands on the back and assumed he pushed off. Your thoughts?

Re: Taylors offencive pass interference call

I thought it was a bad call when I saw the replay too, I think the defensive back fell a little and then stumbled intentionally to get the call ... but good for him, I would want our guys to do the same thing in an attempt to win the football game. The pass to K-Rob should have been a TD, but it was in the air longer than a punt. That whole possession bothered me because I felt like we really could seal the deal there and let it get away. By the way ... not to be too much of a grammar nazi, but there have been far too many people spelling OFFENSE and DEFENSE wrong ... I am not trying to be an a$s, but it is driving me nuts ... We are all smarter than this ... that is why we are Vikings fans.

Whatever, it's over and done with.

Just about every passing play is gonna draw a flag, lay a finger on someone and bam, you broke a rule. What's really iritating is when these penalties are called even when the ball wasn't catchable, this transpired yesterday on a passing play when Eli tried to connect with Plaxico but the ball was no wear near him.. there was a flag.. but that time they got it right by picking up the flag knowing the ball was no where near the intended target.
