Ooh. Calvin Johnson. You better remember that name. He owned us in that game. As far as VT goes, we each surprised each other in really good games, but in different sports. I was so happy about the football game and was so pissed after the basketball game. We got you guys back the next game though. :wink:good luck to your boys this week btw, Im a yellow jacket fan, you guys own us in bball but its almost the opposite recently in football, i guess it balances out, even though im a gt fan i go to VT and was at the game where we beat state by one in bball and was also at the game where pace missed the field goal, both good games
Hopefully we can show those wisconsinites this weekend when we beat the badgers.

1999 Draft
culpepper didn't get taken cause he was from a small school.
seriously that draft was so hyped up that hardly anyone could live up to it.
i also remember indy booing the james pick and were so pissed they didn't take williams. (and of course the jets boo'ed their pick :lol
also its crazy that after 5 qb's taken in the first 12 spots in 99 (don't forget that cade mcnown was taken right after us, add him to the busts) in 2000 only 1 qb was taken the first round at #18 (pennington) and not another taken until the 3rd and only 12 total. round 6 having 5 with bulger/brady as the notables.
that draft if you asked me (2000) sucked pretty bad overall[b:4b97d41fa6]Hey Green Bay...[/b:4b97d41fa6]

Couch could still turn out to be a good QB, I think his years in Clev. weren't his fault the whole organization was in shambles. Also he came in a rookie and started off learning the NFL from a bad team and he picked up there ethic, which is bad. Couch in a different system, like Detroit or Stl or even Tampa, could be a great fit.

Well said. I dont think it matters if you are black or white when it comes to the NFL. Daunte was from a small school and I think there was some issues with him having small hands. Couch was a better prospect at the time. I would have picked up couch if I was cleveland.

1999 Draft
Every year there is that one cant miss player that misses horibly... there is alot of hype at the number one spot. Its hard to live up to that. I think in 99 couch was the best prospect. You guys have to remember they basically called him great before he even saw his jersey. I think the same will be said about alex smith next year.(sorry delrio) every body said his proday was so great but i think he is a product of the system. he is a shotgun QB i think he will have a hard time making that adjustment in the NFL. Im just glad we dont got the first pick.
