1999 Draft
# Cleveland -- Tim Couch, QB, Kentucky
# Philadelphia -- Donovan McNabb, QB, Syracuse
# Cincinnati -- Akili Smith, QB, Oregon
# Indianapolis -- Edgerrin James, RB, Miami
# New Orleans -- Ricky Williams, RB, Texas
# St. Louis -- Torry Holt, WR, NC State
# Washington -- Champ Baily, CB, Georgia
# Arizona -- David Boston, WR, Ohio State
# Detroit -- Chris Claiborne, LB, USC
# Baltimore -- Chris McAlister, CB, Arizona
# Minnesota -- Daunte Culpepper, QB, Central Florida
As it turns out, there was only 1(possibly 2 or 3) bust in the first 10 picks. Very unusual.

1999 Draft
well i see 5 busts there. Akili and couch obviously but i will call boston a bust and ricky williams too as well, had he played longer he wouldnt of been but he only put up about 2-3 good years and i call claiborne a bust too, for where he was taken he hasnt produced like his draft slot would indicate

1999 Draft
Couch=Bust
Smith= Bust
These have turned out to be the 2 biggest busts of this 1999 draft, ofcourse. Williams and Boston have drug issues....Claiborne hasn't been the same over the past 3 seasons and I can see why the Lions didnt try and keep him. James, Holt, McNabb, Culpepper, McAlister and Baily have been outstanding pros.http://www.angelfire.com/mn2/VikingTrader/

1999 Draft
Even though I had followed Pep's career in college, I remember that I was so pissed off when Baltimore took McAlister one spot before us...I really wanted us to get that dude...but NOW I wouldn't trade Pep for anyone!!!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

I see 4. Yes, Claiborne has not lived up to the expectations, but not a bust considering Couch and Smith in there.

yeah thats true, i would say 4 busts with 6 hits, then you have claiborne, the 6 hits are all probowlers, thats impressive
